The Burning Strife is a Hardmode non-consumable rogue spiky ball that is dropped by Goblin Warlocks. It throws a gravity-affected shadowflame spiky ball that bounces off of solid blocks. Upon contact with an enemy, the spiky ball will explode and inflict the Shadowflame debuff to all nearby enemies, as well as dealing 33% damage to them.

Performing a stealth strike with Burning Strife causes the next spiky ball thrown to deal 130% and pierce through four enemies before being destroyed on contact with a fifth. Whenever the spiky ball strikes an enemy, it releases an explosion that is larger than the non-stealth version and deals 42.9% damage.

Its best modifier is Flawless.

• The Burning Strife was implemented based on a community suggestion made by Iris Cassandra Saintclaire (known as Lilith Saintclaire at the time) on the mod's Discord server, where it was called "Shadowflame Core".
