The Recitation of the Beast is a craftable post-Moon Lord spell tome and the direct upgrade to the Demon Scythe. When used, it casts a ring of six homing Beast Scythes around the player that then fly off toward the cursor.

Its best modifier is Mythical.

Trivia

• The weapon is a reference to the spell card Great Magic "Devil's Recitation", used by the character Byakuren Hijiri from the Touhou Project series. In turn, the spell card itself is a reference to the Demon God Shinki from a much earlier game in the series, as it resembles the penultimate bullet pattern from her boss fight.

  • Scythes now home towards the closest enemy instead of the earliest enemy in the NPC array.
  • Increased sell price from 28 to 40 .
