The Carnage is a Hardmode broadsword that is dropped by the Wall of Flesh. When it kills an enemy, it spawns 6-8 homing blood bolts that deal 30% of the weapon's damage. The bolts heal the player for 7.5% of the damage dealt upon contact with an enemy.

Its best modifier is Legendary.


These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
    • Now obeys the lifesteal cooldown.
    • Blood now heals for 7.5% of damage dealt instead of 2 health.
    • No longer has a 125% size modifier.
    • Blood now homes towards the closest enemy instead of the earliest enemy in the NPC array.
  • Fixed it not spawning blood on enemy kills.
    • Increased the amount of blood spawned per kill from 4-5 to 6-8 but nerfed damage from 100% base damage to 30%.
    • Blood can no longer spawn from passive or statue-spawned NPCs.
    • Buffed damage from 69 to 70.
    • Now drops from Wall of Flesh in all difficulties instead of The Hive Mind and The Perforators in Malice Mode. Decreased drop rate from 100% Malice Mode to 10%.
    • Now uses the Rarity Level: 4 rarity instead of Rarity Level: 3.
    • Now has a 125% size modifier but decreased projectile lifesteal from 5 to 2.
    • Now drops from The Hive Mind and The Perforators in Malice Mode instead of Blood Zombies and Crimulan Blight Slimes after defeating Skeletron. Increased drop rate from 0.5% and 1% to 100% Malice Mode.
    • Now has a custom - Challenge Item - (#FF8C00 ●) tag instead of using the Rarity level: Rare Variant rarity.
    • Fixed blood not benefitting from increased all-class damage.
    • Swing now functions in PvP.
