The 1.4.2.105 update reworked the Revengeance Mode AIs of most of the vanilla bosses that hadn't received AI reworks in 1.4.2.104, along with some Revengeance Mode changes to other bosses. The update also made various changes to the mod's explosive projectiles, rebalanced various weapons, resprited a variety of items and The Devourer of Gods, and fixed a slew of bugs.

Changes

Bosses

Aquatic Scourge

  • Now takes 50% damage from all non-minion piercing projectiles instead of taking 20% damage from infinitely piercing projectiles, and dividing the damage of other piercing projectiles by the amount of times they pierce.
  • Head now has a circular hitbox.
  • Homing projectiles can now home into body segments.
  • Decreased how long clouds last, but they now last longer in Death Mode, fade slower, and produce light.

Astrum Aureus

  • Can now jump further horizontally.
  • Now falls more quickly while using its stomp attack and if the player is directly below it.
  • Can now jump through tiles in Revengeance Mode.
  • Aureus Spawn now glows in the dark.
  • Lasers now pierce through the player.
  • Flame crystals now fade in faster and have a significantly smaller explosion.

Astrum Deus

  • Reduced speed of the spectral worm when it's alone.
  • Lasers now pierce through the player.
  • Mines fade in faster, but have a smaller explosion.
  • No longer drops Astral Bulwark in Normal Mode.

Brain of Cthulhu

  • Reworked Revengeance Mode AI:
    • Buffed health modifier from 1.4x Revengeance Mode / 1.9x Death Mode to 1.6x Revengeance Mode / 2.1x Death Mode.
    • Will never teleport on top of the player during phase 1.
    • Can now deal damage in phase 1 again.
    • If there are 5 or fewer Creepers alive, all Creepers become immune to knockback.
    • Creepers now take 60% damage from non-minion piercing projectiles.
    • Brain of Cthulhu moves faster and teleports more frequently in phase 1 based on how many Creepers are alive.
    • Creepers now charge as a swarm more frequently if there are less alive.
    • Will not despawn if fought in the Crimson.
    • No longer has a map icon at low health.

Brimstone Elemental

  • Can no longer teleport on top of the player, and can now be damaged at all times, but can also damage the player at all times.
  • Teleportation now happens at a set time interval instead of having a variable of randomness.
  • Hellfireballs are now shot at the vertical center of the boss instead of a random vertical position.
  • Increased speed during phase 2.
  • Now produces light.
  • Brimstone Barrages and Hellblasts now pierce through the player.
  • Now fades in and out during teleportation faster.
  • Now plays a sound when spawning a Brimling.

Bumblebirb

  • Nerfed clone health from 30,000 / 60,000 Expert Mode to 25,000 / 50,000 Expert Mode.
  • Significantly increased speed and aggressiveness for both the main Bumblebirb and its clones.
  • Reduced lightning feather count when below 50% health from 6 to 3.
  • Now gets more aggressive at higher health values in Revengeance Mode and at even higher values in Death Mode.
  • Lightning feathers now pierce through the player, and are more aggressive.

Calamitas

  • Brimstone Lasers now pierce through the player.

Ceaseless Void

  • Now spawns beam portals in Death Mode and Boss Rush.
  • Dark Energies now become immune to knockback at 70% Revengeance Mode / 90% Death Mode health in higher difficulty modes instead of having a set 50% health threshold in all modes.
  • Increased speed of Dark Energies.
  • Dark Energy rings and Beam Portals now pierce through the player.

Crabulon

  • No longer walks away from the player when looked at.

Cryogen

  • Can no longer teleport on top of the player, and can now be damaged at all times, but can also damage the player at all times.
  • Teleportation now happens at a set time interval instead of having a variable of randomness.
  • Now fades in and out during teleportation faster.
  • Teleport is now accompanied by a sound.

Desert Scourge

  • Now starts a Sandstorm when defeated for the first time.

The Destroyer

  • Now takes 50% damage from all non-minion piercing projectiles instead of taking 20% damage from infinitely piercing projectiles, and dividing the damage of other piercing projectiles by the amount of times they pierce.
  • Now takes 75% damage from Crystal Bullet shards, Holy Arrow stars, Spear of Paleolith shards, and Cryogenic Staff, Frosty Flare, and Winter's Fury's frost shards.
  • Now resists Kelvin Catalyst's main boomerang, and no longer causes it to despawn quicker.
  • Revengeance Mode lasers now inflict On Fire! for 4 seconds instead of 3.

The Devourer of Gods

  • Buffed phase 1's health from 450,000 / 720,000 Expert Mode / 800,000 Revengeance Mode / 1,360,000 Death Mode to 675,000 / 1,080,000 Expert Mode / 1,200,000 Revengeance Mode / 2,080,000 Death Mode.
  • Nerfed phase 2's health from 1,650,000 / 2,640,000 Expert Mode / 3,000,000 Revengeance Mode / 4,896,000 Death Mode to 1,150,000 / 1,840,000 Expert Mode / 2,160,000 Revengeance Mode / 3,360,000 Death Mode.
  • Greatly improved movement to be more nimble and dangerous.
  • Laser walls now come in from all directions at once instead of desyncing, but there are far more walls overall.
  • Now shoots fireballs that explode on collision instead of a flamethrower.
  • Cut all debuff durations in half.
  • Decreased phase 1's segment length from 102 to 82.
  • Decreased phase 2's segment length from 122 to 102.
  • Lasers now pierce through the player.
  • Removed phase 2's Beam Portal attack.
  • Phase 1 lasers no longer produce light.
  • Phase 2's head and tail now have circular hitboxes.
  • Both The Devourer of Gods and Cosmic Guardian now have glowmasks.
  • No longer takes 25% damage from Sulphuric Acid Cannon's mist and Eidolic Wail's wails.

Duke Fishron

  • Revengeance Mode changes:
    • Nerfed Sharkron health modifier from 30x Revengeance Mode to 5x Revengeance Mode.
    • Now spawns a swarm of individual Sharkrons as well as bubbles while spinning.
    • Now spawns 3 Sharknadoes in phase 1 instead of 2. Each time he spawns the Sharknadoes, they appear in a different pattern.
    • Cthulhunados are now larger.
    • Increased speed.
  • Map icon now disappears in phase 3 in Death Mode.

Eater of Worlds

  • Reworked Revengeance Mode AI:
    • Now gets faster based on how many segments are left.
    • Now fires less cursed flames and vile spits later in the fight.
    • No longer gets a few seconds of extreme damage reduction when a head dies.
    • Now takes 60% damage from non-minion piercing projectiles.
    • No longer has an increased segment count compared to Expert Mode.
    • Worms will not be staggered when their head is killed, and will keep moving.
  • No longer reflects projectiles in Death Mode.

Eye of Cthulhu

  • Reworked Revengeance Mode AI:
    • Now has a new phase where it charges straight horizontally at the player.
    • Servants of Cthulhu no longer drop anything.
    • Now spawns a flood of Servants of Cthulhu upon reaching 40% health and while lining up its horizontal charges.
    • Now has several different charge patterns that it uses as it lowers in health.
    • Now enters phase 2 at 85% health.
  • Now enters phase 2 instantly in Death Mode.

Golem

  • Reworked Revengeance Mode AI:
    • Nerfed body health modifier from 3.5x Revengeance Mode / 8.5x Death Mode to 4x Revengeance Mode / 7x Death Mode, but buffed damage reduction from 15% to 25%.
    • Both forms of the head, and fists now have 25% damage reduction.
    • The initial head now has a health modifier of 1.5x Revengeance Mode / 2x Death Mode, and the freed head now has a health modifier of 1.25x Revengeance Mode / 1.5x Death Mode.
    • The freed head can now be damaged and killed.
    • The head will lock on diagonal positions from the player and fire lasers at them.
    • Freed head no longer inflicts Armor Crunch.
    • Fireballs now explode into infernos instead of bouncing.
  • Health bar now counts all segments together.

The Hive Mind

  • Shaderain now pierces through the player.

Jungle Dragon, Yharon

  • Flare Dusts no longer produce dust and have a significantly smaller explosion.
  • Flare Bombs now produce less dust, and have a slightly smaller explosion.

King Slime

  • Reworked Revengeance Mode AI:
    • Now jumps higher and moves faster the higher his targeted player is.
    • When below 50% health, spawns a Crown Jewel which follows the player and fires ruby bolts.
    • Can now spawn all kinds of slimes when damaged.

Lunatic Cultist

  • Buffed health modifier from 1.15x / 1.55x Revengeance Mode / 2.25x Death Mode to 1.2x / 1.7x Revengeance Mode / 2.5x Death Mode.
  • Reworked Revengeance Mode AI:
    • Fires two Ice Mist shots instead of one each time he uses the attack.
    • Clones do not disappear even if the ritual is interrupted.
    • Lunatic Cultist and his clones no longer deal contact damage.
    • The player has less time to interrupt the ritual as health lowers.
    • Lunatic Cultist always spawns Ancient Dooms with each ritual.
    • Homing weapons ignore Lunatic Cultist while he is performing the ritual.
    • Ancient Dooms cannot deal contact damage, but their ability to fire darkness balls has been buffed.
    • Many of Lunatic Cultist's projectiles now deal 25% more damage.
  • No longer has a 25% resistance to homing projectiles.

The Perforators

  • Increased the Perforator Hive's speed.
  • Blood Geyser projectiles can now pass through tiles after 3 seconds have passed, and no longer pass through tiles at all times in Death Mode.
  • Ichor Shot projectiles now pass through tiles after 3 seconds have passed.

The Plaguebringer Goliath

  • Plague Homing Missiles and homing stingers now go through tiles.
  • Homing stingers now last 5 seconds instead of 20.
  • Increased speed.
  • Refined movement.
  • Projectiles no longer have a random spread.
  • Reduced the size of missile explosions.
  • Reduced time it takes for the boss to despawn.
  • Screen shader is now less intense.

Plantera

  • Reworked Revengeance Mode AI:
    • No longer enrages outside the Jungle.
    • Can only have 3 thorn balls deployed at a time. She can't fire more unless there are less than 3 currently alive.
    • Hooks no longer spawn their own tentacles.
    • Hooks are less aggressive and no longer deal contact damage.
    • Tentacles no longer stretch out further when they are at low health.
    • Becomes faster and more aggressive the less solid tiles are near her.
    • Gains defense for each of her tentacles that is alive.
    • If taken to the surface, Plantera photosynthesizes and rapidly regenerates health during the day. At night, she hardens and gains a massive defense boost.
    • When all of Plantera's tentacles are dead in phase 2, she will charge the player extremely quickly until close to them. She then spits spore clouds, seeds and killable spore pods.
    • Thorn Balls now inflict Poisoned for 4 seconds instead of 3.

Polterghast

  • Hooks no longer have additional health boosts in Revengeance and Death Mode, no longer have defense, and no longer deal contact damage.
  • Hooks now only fire projectiles in phase 2.
  • Phantom Blasts now pierce through the player.
  • Phantom Shots now accelerate slower.
  • Phantoms now fire more frequently.
  • Decreased aggressiveness.
  • The clone now has its own health bar.

Profaned Guardians

  • The main guardian now varies its spear attacks and uses spears more frequently at lower health.
  • In Death Mode, the main guardian is immediately able to use all of its attacks.
  • The main guardian's Flare Dusts no longer produce dust and have a significantly smaller explosion.
  • The main guardian's spears now last half as long, but can now pierce through the player and can pass through tiles for a few seconds.

Providence, the Profaned Goddess

  • Nerfed Cocoon Flame damage in Death Mode from 300 to 200.
  • Speed and projectile fire rates are now reduced for each Profaned Guardian alive.
  • Crystal and Holy Ray attacks are now exclusive to the Underworld and the Hallow respectively. Both attacks can still occur at once in Boss Rush.
  • In Revengeance Mode, Providence now shoots two Holy Rays that rotate towards each other until leaving a small space.
  • If Providence is inside of tiles, the Holy Rays can go through tiles.
  • Now moves further horizontally while she is firing Molten Blasts and Holy Bombs. However, she cannot fire them while directly over the player.
  • Providence now moves slower during her Holy Ray, and will move even slower for each Profaned Guardian alive.
  • Cocoon flames now last 4 seconds instead of 5.
  • Increased spread of crystal shards, and each wave of shards now has 14 shards instead of 10.
  • Crystal shards now ignore tiles for 5 seconds instead of 8, and fall faster in Revengeance Mode.
  • Cocoon flames are now instantly opaque instead of fading in.
  • Holy Fire, Holy Flare, and Holy Spear projectiles now pierce through the player.
  • Holy Shots are now slightly transparent to differentiate them from the aimed spears.
  • The offensive and defense guardian no longer shoot spears.
  • The offensive guardian's Flare Dusts no longer produce dust and have a significantly smaller explosion.
  • Reduced screen shader intensity.

Ravager

  • Can now jump through tiles in Revengeance Mode.
  • Can now fall through tiles to reach the player.
  • Adjusted lighting for larger fires, and added lighting for smaller fires.
  • Decreased missile explosion size, and the length from the player required for the missile to detonate.
  • Increased nuke explosion size.

Signus, Envoy of the Devourer

  • Can no longer teleport on top of the player, and can now be damaged at all times, but can also damage the player at all times.
  • Now teleports more frequently and fades in and out during teleportation faster.
  • Teleport is now accompanied by a sound.
  • Now becomes more aggressive in Death Mode instead of being identical to Revengeance Mode.
  • Increased speed during phase 2.
  • Cosmic Flames now produce less dust and have slightly smaller explosions.
  • Dust trail explosions are now slightly smaller.
  • Scythes are now more visible.

Siren and Leviathan

  • Nerfed The Leviathan's defense while enraged from 80 to 60.
  • Improved The Siren's charging behavior and overall movement.
  • All of The Siren's projectiles now pierce through the player.

Skeletron

  • Reworked Revengeance Mode AI:
    • Nerfed the hands' health modifier from 1.3x Revengeance Mode / 1.4x Death Mode to 0.75x Revengeance Mode / 0.9x Death Mode.
    • Fires far less homing skulls.
    • Hands are now more aggressive.
    • Head now charges at a higher velocity and switches between floating and charging more rapidly.
    • Head now gains 250 defense while either hand is alive.
    • Homing projectiles and minions won't home in on or attack Skeletron's head while his hands are alive.
    • Now has the ability to occasionally teleport. Teleportation occurs more frequently after its hands have been defeated.
    • At 33% health, Skeletron respawns his hands.
    • Homing Skulls now inflict Weak for 3 seconds instead of 2.

Skeletron Prime

  • Revengeance Mode changes:
    • Changed head's health modifier from 1.15x Revengeance Mode / 1.5x Death Mode to 1.2x Revengeance Mode / 1.45x Death Mode.
    • Nerfed the health modifier for all four arms in Death Mode from 1.1x Death Mode to 0.9x Death Mode.
    • Nerfed the health modifier for all four arms when Draedon's Remote is used from 1.15x Revengeance Mode / 1.45x Death Mode to 1.05x Revengeance Mode / 1.15x Death Mode.
    • Arms have less health, but the head has more health.
    • No longer spawns homing skulls or Probes if the player is too close to its head.
    • Now flies up and down more aggressively the less arms it has left.
    • Glides further left and right to make the melee arms more threatening.
    • Will only heal up to 300 health when enraged at sunrise. Healing will only occur when below half health.
    • Lasers now inflict On Fire! for 4 seconds instead of 3.
    • Homing Skulls now inflict Weak for 3 seconds instead of 2.

The Slime God

  • Nerfed the Crimulan Slime God's base defense from 25 to 20, and defense after defeating the Ebonian Slime God from 30 / 45 Revengeance Mode to 25 / 30 Revengeance Mode.
  • Nerfed the Ebonian Slime God's base defense from 20 to 15, and defense after defeating the Crimulan Slime God from 30 / 45 Revengeance Mode to 20 / 25 Revengeance Mode.
  • Mines now pierce through the player, but reduced their explosion size.

Storm Weaver

  • Decreased how often Storm Weaver fires lightning in Revengeance Mode and lower.

Supreme Calamitas

  • Reduced the difficulty of bullet hells while Enraged or with the Boss Rush Xeroc Curse configuration option.
  • Brimstone Barrages, Hellblasts, and Flame Skulls now pierce through the player.
  • Tweaked the dust visuals for Brimstone Gigablasts and Fireblasts.

The Twins

  • Retinazer's Revengeance Mode laser darts now have smaller explosions.
  • Retinazer's Revengeance Mode lasers now inflict On Fire! for 4 seconds instead of 3.

Wall of Flesh

  • Reworked Revengeance Mode AI:
    • Reduced laser frequency.
    • Now moves faster when the player is far away, and slower when the player is closer.
    • If the player is behind blocks for too long, Wall of Flesh enrages and charges very quickly to catch up to the player. It stops charging when it gets close enough.
    • Nerfed The Hungry II's health modifier from 1.25x Revengeance Mode / 1.5x Death Mode to 1.05x Revengeance Mode / 1.15x Death Mode.
    • Nerfed Leech's health modifier from 1.25x Revengeance Mode / 1.5x Death Mode to 1.05x Revengeance Mode / 1.15x Death Mode.
    • The Hungry II now collide with tiles again.
  • Subsequent kills no longer try to generate the Astral Infection.
  • Hermit's Box of One Hundred Medicines is now guaranteed for each player the first time Wall of Flesh is killed. After that, it has a 10% drop rate.

Enemies

  • Aquatic Parasite, Aquatic Seeker, Aquatic Urchin, and Sea Urchin are now slower and less aggressive.
  • Cloud Elemental can now fly.
  • Cnidrion now shoots water more frequently, and starts firing more erratically once it reaches 25% health instead of 10%.
  • Cultists now respawn quicker on all difficulty modes instead of Revengeance Mode and higher.
  • Giant Clam can no longer spawn until after defeating Desert Scourge.
  • Decreased the size of Great Sand Shark's sand blast explosions, and it can now only spawn after defeating Plantera instead of either Plantera or Calamitas.
  • Decreased the drop rate of Sky Glaze from Harpy from 2.5% / 3.33% Expert Mode to 1.25% / 1.67% Expert Mode.
  • Heat Spirit no longer takes up half an NPC slot.
  • Nerfed Mirage Jelly's damage from 100 / 200 Expert Mode to 80 / 160 Expert Mode, and reduced its teleportation range.
  • Buffed Mothron's damage reduction from 5% to 20%, and they are now significantly faster and more aggressive after defeating Jungle Dragon, Yharon's first phase.
  • Plaguebringer no longer shoots in a random spread, and projectiles no longer deal more damage in Death Mode.
  • Profaned Energy's projectiles now pierce through the player.

Items

Balance

  • Most items with exploding projectiles now have said explosions pierce infinitely and grant 10 local immunity frames. These include:
  • Increased several sell prices:
  • Nerfed Abyssal Tome's damage from 42 to 30, and decreased the size of its explosions.
  • Buffed Adamantite Throwing Axe's damage from 37 to 44.
  • Buffed Aegis Blade's damage from 61 to 68, shot speed from 9 to 14, alt fire no longer costs mana, and primary fire now counts as true melee.
  • Buffed Aether's Whisper's damage from 1050 to 1150, and shots now gain a 0.5% damage boost per frame instead of a flat 5 damage boost per frame.
  • Buffed Alpha Ray's damage from 240 to 280, and alt fire beam damage from 170% base damage to 210%.
  • Increased Angelic Shotgun's sell price from 60 Silver Coin to 28 Gold Coin.
  • Buffed Apotheosis' damage from 333 to 366, and use time from 41 to 20.
  • Buffed Aquatic Dissolution's damage from 165 to 200, and knockback from 5.5 to 6.
  • Aquatic Dissolution and Dragon Pow's ocean beams can no longer collide with tiles for a second after spawning.
  • Buffed Ark of the Ancients' damage from 58 to 92, but stars now deal 50% base damage instead of 100%.
  • Buffed Astral Pike's shot speed from 9 to 13.
  • Buffed Astreal Defeat's damage from 109 to 160, and slightly decreased the size of its flame explosions.
  • Buffed Augur of the Elements' damage from 150 to 180.
  • Slightly increased the size of summoner Auric Tesla and Bloodflare armor's Phantom Mines.
  • Nerfed The Ballista's damage from 145 to 125, and arrow now pierces 2 times instead of 3.
  • Slightly increased the size of Ballistic Poison Bomb's spike explosions.
  • Barracuda Gun's mechanical barracuda now sets target immunity frames to 5.
  • Nerfed Black Anurian's damage from 40 to 36.
  • Bladecrest Oathsword now pierces twice instead of once.
  • Buffed Bloody Edge's damage from 47 to 52.
  • Buffed Blight Spewer's damage from 99 to 110, and flames now set target immunity frames to 4 instead of 5.
  • Buffed Brimstone Flameblaster's shot speed from 8.5 to 10, and fireballs now set target immunity frames to 5 instead of 7.
  • Buffed Brimstone Fury's damage from 21 to 40, and reduced its spread.
  • Brimstone Sword's left click now counts as true melee and sets target immunity frames to 6 instead of 8.
  • Briny Baron changes:
    • Buffed damage from 66 to 80.
    • Left click now counts as true melee.
    • Water spouts now deal 50% base damage instead of 100%, and pierce 2 times instead of 3.
    • Razorwinds now grant enemies 8 local immunity frames instead of 10.
  • Burning Sea changes:
    • Now creates 3-4 homing fireballs instead of 2 when hitting water.
    • Homing fireballs now deal 135% original fireball damage instead of 85%.
    • Homing fireballs now last 3 seconds instead of 4, have 1 extra update, and ignore Water.
    • Homing fireballs now have an increased homing range and speed while homing.
  • Buffed Burnt Sienna's damage from 30 to 35.
  • Butcher now increases its accuracy and fire rate 33% more quickly.
  • Slightly increased the size of Calamari's Lament's ink explosions.
  • Nerfed Carnage Ray's damage from 35 to 24.
  • Increased the size of Chicken Cannon's explosions.
  • Buffed Clock Gatlignum's damage from 45 to 60.
  • Nerfed Clockwork Bow's damage from 100 to 70.
  • Buffed Cobalt Kunai's damage from 28 to 36.
  • Increased the size of Coral Cannon's explosions.
  • Decreased the size of Cranium Smasher's explosions.
  • Increased the size of Crystal Flare Staff's explosions.
  • Buffed Crystal Piercer's damage from 43 to 52, and use time from 19 to 16.
  • Increased the size of Daemon's Flame's flame explosions.
  • Buffed Death Valley Duster's damage from 97 to 110.
  • Nerfed Deific Amulet's armor penetration boost from 25 to 10.
  • Demonic Pitchfork changes:
  • Slightly decreased the size of Dreadmine Staff's explosions.

  • Buffed Diseased Pike's shot speed from 9 to 10.
  • Divine Retribution's spears are now bigger.
  • Buffed Dragon's Breath's damage from 220 to 320, and reduced its spread.
  • Drataliornus changes:
    • Buffed damage from 410 to 620.
    • Now reduces wing flight time instead of other stats.
    • Buffed alt fire's use time from 35 to 23, use animation from 18 to 12, and reuse delay from 72 to 48.
  • Buffed Dualpoon's damage from 53 to 70.
  • Earthen Pike's fossil shards now deal 50% base damage instead of 25%.
  • Buffed Effervescence's damage from 24 to 36.
  • Eidolic Wail's projectiles now grant enemies 2 local immunity frames instead of 1.
  • Buffed Eldritch Tome's damage from 36 to 48.
  • Elemental Disk no longer ignores extra immunity frames.
  • Elemental Eruption changes:
    • Buffed damage from 28 to 50, but nerfed use time from 1 to 5.
    • Reduced its spread and the amount of flames shot per use from 3-6 to 3-5.
    • Flames now pierce twice instead of once, last 1.5 seconds instead of 0.75, and grant enemies 9 local immunity frames.
    • Flames now inflict Brimstone Flames, Frostburn, Glacial State, and On Fire! in addition to its existing debuffs.
  • Buffed Elemental Lance's damage from 155 to 210.
  • Buffed Elemental Shiv's damage from 150 to 180.
  • Slightly increased the size of Elysian Arrow explosions.
  • Buffed The Empyrean's damage from 82 to 92, and flames now set target immunity frames to 3 instead of 4.
  • Greatly increased the size of Executioner's Blade's explosions.
  • Exoblade's beam now ignores water.
  • Nerfed Fallen Paladin's Hammer's damage from 180 to 160, but increased its range by 50%.
