Bosses

Anahita and Leviathan

  • No longer become invincible and instead enrage when leaving the Ocean.
  • Decreased the maximum amount of Paraseas that the Leviathan spawns from 2 to 1 when not enraged and from 4 to 3 when enraged.

Aquatic Scourge

  • No longer despawns and instead enrages when leaving the Sulphurous Sea.
  • Sulphur clouds no longer have increased duration in Death Mode.

Astrum Aureus

  • Nerfed health from 96,000 / 153,600 Expert Mode / 195,200 Revengeance Mode to 84,000 / 134,400 Expert Mode / 171,200 Revengeance Mode.
  • Nerfed post-Moon Lord health from 704,000 Revengeance Mode to 624,000 Revengeance Mode.
  • Nerfed Boss Rush health from 8,400,000 / 13,440,000 Expert Mode / 13,440,000 Revengeance Mode to 7,400,000 / 11,840,000 Expert Mode / 11,840,000 Revengeance Mode.
  • Adjusted Aureus Spawn stats:
    • Buffed health from 1008 to 3000.
    • Buffed Boss Rush health from 1002 to 30,000.
    • Buffed defense from 0 to 10.
    • No longer has 99.9999% damage reduction.
  • Now less aggressive in Death Mode, and reduced the spread and amount of its lasers.

Astrum Deus

  • All worms now accelerate much faster and have a higher top speed if the player is far away.
  • Now enrages during the day.
  • No longer takes reduced damage from Forbidden Sun's explosions.

Brain of Cthulhu

  • No longer despawns outside of the Crimson but instead enrages in Revengeance Mode.
  • Now less aggressive when fought in the Underground Crimson in Revengeance Mode.
  • Now transitions to phase 4 at 55% Revengeance Mode health instead of 50% Revengeance Mode and phase 5 at 40% Revengeance Mode health instead of 30% Revengeance Mode.
  • Nerfed Creeper's speed in Revengeance Mode.

Brimstone Elemental

  • Now enrages when leaving the Brimstone Crag.
  • Her and her projectiles are now significantly slower and inflict Brimstone Flames instead of Abyssal Flames.
  • The laser now shoots rows of darts perpendicular to it.
  • Now inflicts Brimstone Flames for 3 seconds on contact.
  • Hellfireballs and their explosions now inflict Brimstone Flames for 4 seconds instead of 10 and 6 respectively.
  • Nerfed Brimling's health from 4000 to 2000.

Calamitas

  • No longer despawns and instead enrages when fought during the day.
  • Brimstone Lasers now inflict Brimstone Flames for 2 seconds.
  • Hellfireballs and their explosions now inflict Brimstone Flames for 4 seconds instead of 10 and 6 respectively.
  • Catastrophe's fireballs now inflict Brimstone Flames for 2 seconds instead of 3.
  • Brothers move faster if they are still alive after defeating Calamitas; they move slightly slower otherwise, to compensate.

Ceaseless Void

  • Dark Energies now spread out further apart from each other.
  • Decreased Distorted duration from Dark Energy from 1 second to 0.33.

Crabulon

  • Now enrages when fought on the Surface or outside of the Glowing Mushroom biome.
  • Now always launches 2 Crab Shrooms in Normal Mode instead of randomly launching 1 or 2.

Cryogen

  • Can now always be seen during its last phase and projectiles are now blue during the day.
  • Now enrages when leaving the Snow biome.
  • No longer transitions between phases 1-5 at different healths in each difficulty mode. Instead it transitions to phases 2, 3, 4 and 5 at 85%, 70%, 55% and 40% health respectively.
  • Updated the health thresholds for transitioning to final phase(s):
    • Phase 6 now begins at 15% / 20% Expert Mode / 25% Revengeance Mode / 30% Death Mode health, instead of 15% / 27% Revengeance Mode / 40% Death Mode.
    • Phase 7 now begins at 10% Revengeance Mode / 15% Death Mode health, instead of 15% Revengeance Mode / 25% Death Mode.
    • The first increase to rotation speed now happens at 5% / 7.5% Revengeance Mode health instead of 10% / 22.5% Revengeance Mode.
    • The second increase to rotation speed now happens at 2.5% / 5% Revengeance Mode / 30% Death Mode health instead of 5% / 20% Revengeance Mode / 40% Death Mode.

Desert Scourge

  • No longer becomes invincible and instead enrages outside of the Desert.

The Destroyer

  • Segment lights now glow purple while it's flying in Revengeance Mode.
  • Now accelerates much faster and has a higher top speed if the player is far away.
  • No longer despawns and instead enrages when fought during the day in Revengeance Mode.
  • Reduced lasers' maximum speed from 18 to 14.

The Devourer of Gods

  • Can now charge directly at the player during phase 1.
  • Can no longer teleport immediately after laser walls have been spawned and will now teleport 3 seconds after in all world difficulties.
  • Decreased top speed in phase 2 by 15% on all world difficulties. However, it now accelerates much faster and has a higher top speed if the player is far away.
  • Cosmic Guardian now accelerates much faster and has a higher top speed if the player is far away.
  • Now has an npcSlot check prior to being summoned. If the check fails, it cannot spawn.

The Dragonfolly

  • Now has a slightly longer delay before dashing.

Duke Fishron

  • Now gains new charging patterns as its health decreases during phase 3 in Revengeance Mode. Duke Fishron will also now continuously charge at the player when below 20% health in Revengeance Mode.
  • Now transitions to phase 2 at 70% Revengeance Mode health instead of 66% Revengeance Mode and phase 3 at 40% Revengeance Mode instead of 20% Revengeance Mode / 33% Death Mode.

Eater of Worlds

  • No longer despawns outside of the Corruption but instead enrages in Revengeance Mode.
  • Now less aggressive when fought in the Underground Corruption in Revengeance Mode.
  • Now smaller in Death Mode.

Eye of Cthulhu

  • No longer despawns and instead enrages when fought during the day.

Golem

  • Nerfed Revengeance Mode body health from 54,000 Revengeance Mode to 47,250 Revengeance Mode.
  • Buffed phase 2 head health from 20,625 Revengeance Mode to 28,050 Revengeance Mode.
  • Body, Fists and Head no longer inflict Broken Armor in Revengeance Mode.

The Hive Mind

  • Now enrages outside of the Corruption.
  • Now less aggressive when fought in the Underground Corruption.
  • Hive Blobs now despawn and no longer spawn in phase 2.

King Slime

  • Crown Jewel now fires a spread of 3 projectiles in Death Mode.

Moon Lord

  • Phantasmal Eye projectiles are now less aggressive in Revengeance Mode at the start of the fight and become more aggressive as its health decreases.

The Old Duke

  • Now spends less time preparing to dash during phase 3 and now dashes more aggressively while enraged instead of becoming invulnerable.
  • Significantly decreased pre-charge velocity and acceleration.
  • Now takes 55% damage from Crescent Moon's flail instead of 20%.
  • Sulphur clouds no longer have increased duration in Death Mode.

The Perforators

  • The Perforator Hive now fires its projectiles less often while a Perforator worm is alive.
  • Now enrage outside of the Crimson.
  • Now less aggressive in the Underground Crimson.
  • The Perforator worms now move slower but gain speed as their health decreases.
  • Nerfed the medium Perforator worm's total health from 2000 / 3906 Expert Mode / 4912 Revengeance Mode / 5526 Death Mode to 1600 / 3122 Expert Mode / 4016 Revengeance Mode / 4518 Death Mode. Nerfed individual segment health from 200 / 279 Expert Mode / 307 Revengeance Mode to 160 / 223 Expert Mode / 251 Revengeance Mode.
  • The large Perforator worm now lunges at the player less often in all world difficulties.

The Plaguebringer Goliath

  • Can no longer spawn Plaguebringers, and is now less aggressive in Death Mode.
  • Plague Mines now glow.
  • Enrage has been adjusted to make the fight fairer and now only enrages outside of the Jungle.

Plantera

  • Spore clouds in Revengeance Mode now glow and now constantly travel at a small speed to hinder the player.
  • The number of tentacle hooks that can be summoned at once has been capped in both phases in Revengeance Mode.
  • No longer gains a defense boost per tentacle alive in Revengeance Mode.

Polterghast

  • Clone now turns invisible, except for a red glowmask for its heart and veins, to convey that it's not dealing contact damage while it lines up for a charge.

Providence, the Profaned Goddess

  • Molten Globs now last 15 seconds on the ground instead of 20.
  • Holy Spears can no longer slightly home in on the player.
  • Death Mode no longer multiplies the rate at which holy spears are fired by 2.
  • Screen shader now gradually grows brighter when the player gets within 20 tiles of her Holy Inferno debuff distance. The screen shader is at max brightness while the player is too far away and will be inflicted with Holy Inferno.
  • Providence at nighttime now fires 4 lasers during her scissor laser attack.

Queen Bee

  • Reduced enrage scale from 0.5 to 0.25.

Ravager

  • Rock Pillars now break on contact with the player.
  • Flame Pillars now spawn further apart in phase 2.
  • Detached head now stays further away from the player in all difficulties to prevent cheap shots.

Skeletron

  • Nerfed Skeletron Hand health in Death Mode from 1170 Death Mode to 1014 Death Mode.
  • Increased Chaos Balls fired when teleporting from 2 Revengeance Mode / 4 Death Mode to 3 Revengeance Mode / 5 Death Mode.

Skeletron Prime

  • Nerfed Head health in Revengeance Mode from 60,900 Revengeance Mode to 50,400 Revengeance Mode.
  • Nerfed Head health when summoned by Draedon's Remote in Revengeance Mode from 79,800 Revengeance Mode to 60,900 Revengeance Mode.
  • Decreased rocket velocity.
  • Buffed defense boost for each limb alive from 10 Revengeance Mode / 15 Death Mode to 20 Revengeance Mode.
  • Prime Saw, Prime Vice and Head no longer inflict Bleeding in Revengeance Mode.

The Slime God

  • Nerfed Core health from 4000 / 6400 Expert Mode / 8000 Revengeance Mode to 2000 / 3200 Expert Mode / 4000 Revengeance Mode.
  • Nerfed Distorted duration from the Core from 3 seconds to 2.
  • Buffed Crimulan Slime God health from 3500 / 5600 Expert Mode / 7712 Revengeance Mode to 4150 / 6640 Expert Mode / 9120 Revengeance Mode.
  • Buffed Ebonian Slime God health from 4000 / 6400 Expert Mode / 8800 Revengeance Mode to 4650 / 7440 Expert Mode / 10,240 Revengeance Mode.

Supreme Calamitas

  • Brothers now move up and down slightly faster.
  • The remaining brother now moves and attacks faster after one brother is defeated.
  • Can no longer trigger her “Go to hell” anti-cheat during Boss Rush.

The Twins

  • No longer despawn and instead enrage when fought during the day in Revengeance Mode.

Wall of Flesh

  • Now aims its lasers ahead of the player while it's enraged.

Enemies

Balance and Reworks

  • Decreased the damage buff of several post-Moon Lord enemies:
    • Nerfed Dungeon enemy contact damage buff from 150 to 90, and projectile damage buff from 120 to 60.
    • Nerfed Pumpkin Moon and Frost Moon contact damage buff from 160 to 100, and projectile damage buff from 140 to 70.
    • Nerfed Solar Eclipse contact damage buff from 210 to 150, and projectile damage buff from 200 to 100.
  • Decreased the minimum damage thresholds for the Boss Rush:
    • Reduced minimum contact damage threshold from 300 / 500 Expert Mode + stage*2 to 240 / 400 Expert Mode + stage*2.
    • Reduced minimum projectile damage threshold from 125 / 150 Expert Mode + stage/2 to 90 / 110 Expert Mode + stage/2.
  • Decreased the post-Providence Brimstone Crag enemy stat boosts:
    • Nerfed Calamity Eye's health from 5000 / 10,000 Expert Mode to 3000 / 6000 Expert Mode, damage from 227 / 454 Expert Mode to 80 / 160 Expert Mode, and defense from 101 to 20.
    • Nerfed Charred Slime's health from 7500 / 15,000 Expert Mode to 3500 / 7000 Expert Mode, damage from 227 / 454 Expert Mode to 80 / 160 Expert Mode, and defense from 90 to 20.
    • Nerfed Cultist Assassin's health from 5000 / 10,000 Expert Mode to 3000 / 6000 Expert Mode, damage from 250 / 500 Expert Mode to 100 / 200 Expert Mode, and defense from 130 to 40.

    • Brimstone Crag enemies no longer drop more money post-Providence.
    • All segmented enemies no longer resist Yoyo damage by 15%.
    • Nerfed Aegis Blade, explosion damage now decreases by 10% on each subsequent hit.
    • Nerfed Affliction's damage boost from 12% to 10%.
    • Alchemical Flask and Plague Hive now remove the blindness effect caused by the Plague debuff while equipped.
    • The Amalgam, Amalgamated Brain, Rotten Brain, Void of Calamity, and Void of Extinction's projectile rains are now on set timers and no longer spawn randomly.
    • The Amalgam, Amalgamated Brain, and Rotten Brain's projectiles no longer pierce enemies.
    • Nerfed Amalgamated Brain's damage boost from 12% to 10%.
    • Nerfed post-Cryogen Angry Dog damage from 84 / 168 Expert Mode to 60 / 120 Expert Mode.
    • Buffed Aorta's range from 13.75 tiles to 16.25. Now additionally fires a blood projectile while the Yoyo is held out that deals 25% base damage.
    • Rebalanced Biome Blade, nerfed damage from 70 to 38, use time from 23 to 29, knockback from 6 to 5, and static debuff duration from 3 seconds to 1.5 (1.5 seconds to 0.75 for Glacial State). Projectiles in the Jungle now inflict Venom instead of Plague. It now uses the Rarity Level: 3 rarity instead of Rarity Level: 4.
    • Granted Bladecrest Oathsword autoswing.
    • Reworked Bloodflare Core, no longer grants bonus damage, defense, and damage reduction based on player health. Now removes up to 50% of the player's defense each time they are hit and regenerates it shortly after. Each time the player regains a defense point, they are healed for 1 health.
    • Brimlash's split projectiles now home in much faster onto enemies.
    • Broken Water Filter effects are now togglable by favoriting/unfavoriting the item.
    • Buffed Cnidarian's damage from 13 to 18, range from 11.875 tiles to 15, seashell projectile damage from 50% base damage to 75%, and nerfed air time from 7 seconds to 3.5. The yoyo now moves and fires twice as fast.
    • Rebalanced Core of the Blood God, removed old Bloodflare Core inherited effects. Now increases all damage and damage reduction by 8% at all times while equipped.
    • Nerfed Corpus Avertor's damage from 140 to 98. Nerfed damage bonus derived from missing player health from 20% to 10%.
    • Nerfed Crescent Moon's homing moon projectile damage from 40% base damage to 18%.
    • Increased Cultist Assassin money drop amount from 2 Silver Coin to 10 Silver Coin.
    • Devourer no longer splits in Death Mode.
    • Buffed The Devourer of Gods lore item, now decreases player damage reduction by 5% instead of 10% while favorited.
    • Buffed Dimensional Soul Artifact, now decreases player damage reduction by 15% instead of 25% while equipped.
    • Decreased Draedon's Remote health scaling for Skeletron Prime from 1.9x to 1.45x.
    • Eidolist no longer gains a health boost in Death Mode.
    • Nerfed Energy Staff's sentry fire rate by 33%.
    • Buffed Fault Line's range from 18.125 tiles to 26.25.
    • Decreased Frequency Manipulator's total charge consumed per-use from 0.125 to 0.04, and prevented its charge up from being interrupted.
    • Buffed Galactus Blade's damage from 110 to 135 and increased raining projectile velocity by 25%.
    • Buffed The God's Gambit, yoyo now moves and fires twice as fast.
    • Nerfed Grand Guardian, explosion damage now decreases by 20% on each subsequent hit.
    • Nerfed Heart of the Elements' normal damage boost from 8% to 5%, and damage boost with the Elementals disabled from 10% to 7%.
    • Buffed Hydraulic Volt Crasher, projectiles now benefit from true melee bonuses.
    • Lacerator no longer has a 20% chance to grant 1 health to the player upon hitting an enemy and now functions similarly to Bloodfire Bullets, granting 2 life regeneration upon hitting an enemy, life regeneration resets after being hit by an enemy, or after 60 seconds.
    • Reworked Laudanum, now provides net-positive effects while the player is affected with Blackout, Broken Armor, Chilled, Confused, Darkness, Ichor, Obstructed, Slow, and Weak. No longer provides net-positive effects while the player is affected by Horror due to its removal.
    • Nerfed Lion Heart, explosion damage now decreases by 20% on each subsequent hit.
    • lul now provides immunity to all debuffs and immunity to Providence's Cocoon Stars and The Devourer of Gods' head in Death Mode.
    • Nerfed Luxor's Gift:
      • Nerfed melee Red Orb damage from 60% base damage to 40%.
      • Nerfed ranged Blue Lightning Bolt damage from 40% base damage to 27.5%.
      • Nerfed magic Pendant damage from 80% base damage to 52.5%.
      • Nerfed rogue Scorpion damage from 50% base damage to 35%.
    • The Marked debuff can no longer be inflicted by enemies.
    • Rebalanced The Microwave, increased range from 19.5 tiles to 28.25, decreased aura damage from 50% base damage to 35%.
    • Buffed Murasama's projectile size by 100%.
    • Nebula armor's Life Nebula buff can now be canceled out by Alcohol Poisoning, Holy Inferno, and Abyss breathless damage.
    • Buffed Oblivion's range from 22.5 tiles to 25, and laser damage from 25% base damage to 50%. The yoyo now moves and fires twice as fast.
    • Decreased Omega Biome Blade's projectile range.
    • Buffed Pandemic's range from 21.25 tiles to 28.125, and seeker damage from 50% base damage to 75%. The yoyo now moves and fires twice as fast.
    • Nerfed Prideful Hunter's Planar Ripper, explosion damage now decreases by 20% on each subsequent hit.
    • Buffed Quagmire's range from 17.1875 tiles to 25.
    • Rebalanced Reaper Tooth Necklace, nerfed damage boost from 25% to 12% but removed 50% defense and damage reduction penalties.
    • Relic of Resilience now has a 5 second cooldown before another Artifact of Resilience can be summoned after the previous one shatters.
    • Buffed Riptide's range from 11.25 tiles to 13.75. Decreased air time from 7.5 seconds to 3.75. The yoyo now moves and fires twice as fast.
    • Rebalanced Samurai Badge, no longer grants a static 20% melee damage boost and no longer reduces the player's health by 25% while equipped. Melee damage, melee speed, and true melee damage boosts are now dynamic and scale with how close the player is to an enemy, the maximum boost attainable is 30%. Still provides a 20% true melee damage boost.
    • Buffed Shimmerspark's range from 17.1875 tiles to 21.875. Decreased air time from 16 seconds to 8. The yoyo now moves and fires twice as fast.
    • Adjusted Silva armor set bonuses:
      • Silva Horned Helm set bonus now grants the player a 10% ranged damage boost once Silva Invulnerability has ended. This effect is permanent until the player dies.
      • Silva Horned Hood set bonus no longer grants the player 2 minion slots once Silva Invulnerability has ended.
      • Both of the above changes are inherited by Auric Tesla armor set bonuses' corresponding headpiece.
    • Reworked Staff of the Mechworm, now summons a mechworm that charges, fires lasers, and teleports onto enemies. Damage can be further increased by summoning additional segments that require and occupy minion slots.
    • Rebalanced Sulphurous Grabber, increased range from 18.75 tiles to 21.875, decreased bubble projectile count from 9 to 7, increased bubble projectile damage from 20% base damage to 25%.
    • Buffed Terrarian's damage from 190 to 380.
    • Buffed Time Bolt, increased split projectile targeting distance from 25 tiles to 62.5.
    • Buffed Trinket of Chi, decreased how much time the player needs to stand still from 2 seconds to 1.
    • Rebalanced Verdant, nerfed damage from 128 to 110, but increased range from 25 tiles to 35, projectile fire rate by 25%, and leaf projectile damage from 60% base damage to 80%. The yoyo now moves twice as fast.
    • Buffed Void of Calamity, now decreases player damage reduction by 10% instead of 15% while equipped.
    • Worms that split in Death Mode no longer have the Expert doubled health in Death Mode.
    • Buffed Yharim's Insignia's melee damage boost from 5% to 10%.
    • Buffed Yin-Yo's range from 17.1875 tiles to 21.875. Light Shards now travel away from targets instead of downwards. Dark Shards now travel towards targets instead of to the right. Decreased air time from 14 seconds to 7. The yoyo now moves and fires twice as fast.
    • Buffed Yoyo Counterweights, counterweight projectile velocity increased by 200% and now use custom immunity frames.

    Recipes

    Additional Changes

    • Removed the line "The boss enrages in the open air of the surface" from Abombination's tooltip.
    • Abyssal Pots and Sulphurous Pots now have proper gores when broken and now only drop one Abyssal Treasure / Sulphuric Treasure.
      • Abyssal Treasure and Sulphuric Treasure now have increased loot to compensate for this change.
    • Breath meter loss in the Abyss now only starts when entering the second layer of the biome, and instead uses the standard breath loss mechanic from vanilla Terraria.
    • The Astral Monolith schematic has been slightly altered to prevent issues during biome generation.
    • Astral Ore, Auric Ore, Charred Ore, Cryonic Ore, Exodium Cluster, Perennial Ore, Scoria Ore, and Uelibloom Ore are now always immune to explosives, defeating certain bosses will no longer allow them to be destroyed with explosives.
    • Astrum Aureus now makes laser fire noises when stomping.
    • Bloodworm now has an increased spawn rate after encountering The Old Duke for the first time.
    • A few changes have been made to Death Mode:
      • The player can no longer be affected by the Space or Underworld biome Death Mode effects if they are behind walls.
      • Artificial darkness has been made easier to counter through light sources and potions. Artificial darkness is now disabled while any boss is alive.
      • Decreased amplified debuff damage modifier from 2x to 1.5x.
      • Astral Infection haze has been significantly decreased.
      • Environmental effects now continue while a boss or event is active.
    • Dimensional Soul Artifact now specifies it increases all damage taken in its tooltip.
    • Nerfed Folly Feed mount's top horizontal speed from 94 mph to 72 mph and decreased mount acceleration from 20%/s to 13%/s.
    • Decreased minimum damage taken in Iron Heart mode from 60 + 10% of max health to 40 + 10% of max health. Minimum damage is no longer affected by damage reduction.
    • Increased the threshold for Iron Heart mode's special hurt sound from 60 + 10% of max health to 80 + 10% of max health.
    • Obsidian Skin Potion now causes the player's lava immunity timer to regenerate much faster if they are not in lava.
    • A few changes have been made to Class Proficiency:
      • Class Proficiency gain rate cooldown is now decreased by 50% while a Level Meter is equipped.
      • Class Proficiency gain rate is now doubled while the player has another class proficiency level that is at a higher level.
      • Summoner Class Proficiency now grants an additional minion slot at levels 9 and 15 instead of 6, 10, and 15.
    • Added a flavor tooltip to Reaper Tooth Necklace.
    • Several optimization changes were made with item glowmasks to reduce frame drops.
    • The Sulphurous Sea has been redesigned to generate more smoothly and make the transition between it and the Abyss cleaner.
