The Amalgam is a craftable post-Moon Lord accessory. It increases damage by 15%, extends the duration of potion buffs by 100%, and causes potion buffs to remain active after dying.

When invincibility is active (i.e. when the player is damaged, enters the world or uses the Magic Mirror), shade rains from the sky, dealing 300 typeless damage which can be affected by the average of all damage bonuses.

Additionally, enemies in a 12.5-18.75 tile radius are inflicted with Acid Venom, Astral Infection, Confused, Irradiated, Plague and Sulphuric Poisoning for 5-8 seconds when the player is struck. The range and debuff duration both increase based on the damage taken.

The player is also guaranteed to dodge a hit with a 90-second cooldown. Upon dodging successfully, the player gains the Cerebral Mindtrick debuff, which increases the player's critical strike chance and summon damage by 10%.

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Dodge no longer triggers if an attack deals less than 5% of the player's max health, and now has a varying cooldown based on how much damage was dodged, ranging from 15 seconds at 5% max health to 90 seconds at 50% max health.
    • Now uses Corroded Fossils in its recipe instead of Sulphuric Scales.
    • Increased sell price from 28 Gold Coin to 40 Gold Coin.
  • 2.0.2.001: Now inflicts Acid Venom, Plague and Astral Infection but no longer inflicts Brimstone Flames and God Slayer Inferno to nearby enemies when damaged.
  • 2.0.1.002: Now inherits Brain of Confusion's dodge effect.
  • 2.0.1.001: Buff duration effect now affects the Plenty Satisfied, Exquisitely Stuffed, and Lucky buffs.

    • Now uses 10 Mollusk Husks in its recipe.

    • No longer inherits the effects of Fungal Clump, Leviathan Ambergris, or Void of Extinction.
    • Buffed debuff duration from 1.5-5 seconds to 5-8.
    • Now uses 4 Ascendant Spirit Essences, 15 Plague Cell Canisters, 15 Sulphuric Scales, and 5 Unholy Cores in its recipe instead of 1 Ascendant Spirit Essence, Fungal Clump, Leviathan Ambergris, and Void of Extinction.
    • Now requires a Cosmic Anvil to craft instead of a Draedon's Forge.
  • 1.4.5.004:
    • Projectile rains are now on set timers and no longer spawn randomly.
    • Projectiles no longer pierce enemies.
  • 1.4.5.002: Now uses 1 Ascendant Spirit Essence in its recipe instead of 5 Phantoplasm.
  • 1.4.5.001:
    • Now has a damaging aura at all times instead of only when underwater. Nerfed aura damage from 320 to 300 but it now hits twice as frequently.
    • Enemies that hit the player are now inflicted with Brimstone Flames, God Slayer Inferno, Irradiated, and Sulphuric Poisoning.
    • Massively increased Fungal Clump's speed, range, and aggression, and it now possesses the seawater trail instead of the player. The player can now gain underwater boosts by standing in the Fungal Clump's seawater trail.
    • Brimstone fireballs are now dropped every 8 seconds instead of 10.
  • 1.4.3.002: Now has a tooltip stating it provides heat immunity in Death Mode.
  • 1.4.3.001: Fixed Fungal Clump minion not benefitting from increased all-class damage.
  • 1.4.2.102:
    • Now has an internal rarity of Rarity Level: 9.
    • Buffed Fungal Clump damage from 250 to 1000, poisonous seawater damage from 500 to 2000, rain damage from 500 to 2000, and aura damage from 80 to 320.
    • Increased aura size by 50%.
    • Poisonous seawater no longer has any knockback, and reduced rain knockback from 3 to 1.
    • Fungal Clump minion's orbs now travel further if the player is holding a summoner weapon.
    • Fireballs now inflict Brimstone Flames for 2 seconds instead of 2.67.
  • 1.4.2.101: Poisonous seawater now lasts shorter and produces less dust.
  • 1.4.2.004: Fungal Clump can no longer heal off of enemies with the canGhostHeal tag set to false.
  • 1.4.2.001:
    • Lava immunity is now temporary, but it now also reduces lava damage.
    • Fungal Clump minion now scales with the player's summon damage.
    • Rain projectiles now produce less dust.
  • 1.4.1.001: Buffed damage boost from 10% to 12%, but it no longer grants a critical strike chance boost.
  • 1.4.0.001: Nerfed damage and critical strike chance boosts from 12% to 10%.
  • 1.3.4.103:
    • Now makes the player immune to Lava.
    • Adjusted animation speed.
