The 2.0.4.003 (or 2.0.4.3) update changed multiplayer targeting for many bosses, rebalanced several ammos and weapons, and fixed lingering bugs from previous updates.

Changes

Bosses

  • Changed how several bosses target players in multiplayer:
    • Desert Scourge now only swaps targets after the burrow attack, and Desert Nuisances now always target the same player until they die.
    • Eye of Cthulhu now swaps targets after every charge in phase 1, and targets the same player until they die in phase 2.
    • Crabulon now only swaps targets after completing a full attack cycle.
    • Eater of Worlds now always targets the same player until they die. Body segments still fire vile spit at the closest player.
    • Brain of Cthulhu now only swaps targets after teleporting or when entering phase 2.
    • Queen Bee now only swaps targets after each attack is finished.
    • Skeletron now only swaps targets after each attack is finished, and hands now target the same player as the head.
    • Wall of Flesh's eyes now swap targets after laser barrages instead of before them.
    • Cryogen now only swaps targets on phase transitions or before charges.
    • Retinazer now only swaps targets after each attack is finished, and Spazmatism now always targets the same player until they die.
    • Aquatic Scourge now always targets the same player until they die. Body segments still fire teeth at the closest player.
    • The Destroyer now always targets the same player until they die. Body segments still fire lasers at the closest player.
    • Brimstone Elemental now only swaps targets after each attack is finished.
    • Skeletron Prime now only swaps targets after each attack is finished, and limbs now target the same player as the head.
    • Calamitas Clone now only swaps targets after each attack is finished, and Cataclysmic Construct, Catastrophic Construct, and Soul Seekers now always target the same player until they die.
    • Plantera now swaps targets after the gatling seed attack in phase 1, and always targets the same player until they die in phase 2.
    • Golem now only swaps targets after each jump while the head is alive. Head and fists now target the same player until they die.
    • Duke Fishron now always targets the same player until they die.
    • Lunatic Cultist now only swaps targets when the ritual is interrupted.
  • Astrum Aureus

    • Now stays in the idle phase and walking phase for a shorter time if it is getting hit or the player is too close to it. Getting hit or stay too close makes it stay in these phases for an even shorter time in Expert and Master Mode.

    Astrum Deus

    Brain of Cthulhu

    • Blood shots now have a shorter trail.
    • Decreased Creeper's enrage scale boost when outside the Crimson from 2 to 1, and enrage scale during Boss Rush from 4 to 2.
    • Halved how much Creeper velocity scales with the number of Creepers alive, but scaling velocity from number of Creepers alive is now affected by enrage scale.

    Brimstone Elemental

    • Increased how fast she teleports, and she now stays in the drift phase for a shorter time if she is getting hit or the player is too close to her. Getting hit or stay too close makes her stay in these phases for an even shorter time in Expert and Master Mode.
    • Darts spawned from the brimstone ray now deal 60% of the ray's damage instead of the full damage.

    Calamitas Clone

    • Now plays "Silence before the storms" after being defeated for the first time.

    Ceaseless Void

    • Increased how often it swaps positions around the player during Dark Energy phases from 8 / 6 Expert Mode / 5 Revengeance Mode / 4.5 Death Mode / 3 seconds in Boss Rush to 5 / 4 Expert Mode / 3.5 Revengeance Mode / 3 Death Mode / 2 seconds in Boss Rush.
    • Now stops and stays stationary at each position in its movement during Dark Energy phases unless the player travels too far away.
    • Now inflicts Distorted for 1 second on contact.
    • Dark Energies and Dark Energy projectiles no longer inflict Distorted.
    • Now has higher acceleration based on tile enrage in Death Mode.

    Crabulon

    • Now stays in the walking phase for a shorter time if it is getting hit or the player is too close to it. Getting hit or stay too close makes it stay in this phase for an even shorter time in Expert and Master Mode.

    Cryogen

    • Ice bombs no longer inflict Glacial State if the player is already inflicted with Glacial State.

    Desert Scourge

    • Now falls faster if it is over 11.25 tiles above the player.
    • Slightly increased normal Desert Nuisance's max speed and turn speed, but slightly decreased young Desert Nuisance's max speed and turn speed.
    • Desert Nuisances can no longer pick up money.

    The Devourer of Gods

    • Now plays "Scourge of the Universe (Eulogy for the Ego)" after being defeated for the first time.

    Eater of Worlds

    • Nerfed damage reduction in Boss Rush from 80% to 60%.

    Eye of Cthulhu

    • Blood shots now have a shorter trail.
    • Can no longer perform horizontal charges unless it is within 10 tiles of the position which it is attempting to charge from.
    • Now gains increasing velocity if it cannot reach the position where it is trying to perform a horizontal charge from.
    • Slightly brightened the draw color of Bloodletting Servants.

    The Hive Mind

    • Buffed Dank Creeper's health from 90 / 180 Expert Mode / 202 Master Mode to 120 / 240 Expert Mode / 270 Master Mode.
    • Now inflicts Brain Rot for 5 seconds on contact, and Dank Creepers now inflict Brain Rot for 3 seconds on contact.
    • Decrease Brain Rot duration from shade nimbuses from 6 seconds to 4, and from shaderain from 6 seconds to 2.
    • Hive Blobs now teleport and fade in and out with the Hive Mind, and can only be hit or fire projectiles while fully visible.
    • Increased how often Hive Blobs fire projectiles, and increased projectile speed.
    • Increased the charge speed of Dank Creepers in Revengeance Mode. Dank Creepers now attempt to fly above the player when below 25% health in Expert Mode, killing themselves after doing so.
    • Now fires vile spit during teleports and in the drift phase in Expert Mode, with a faster fire rate in higher difficulties.
    • No longer spawns Hive Blobs in phase 2.
    • Now waits a shorter time before teleporting in phase 2 if it is getting hit or the player is too close to it.
    • Dark Hearts now fly faster and have much looser movement, allowing them to float ahead of the player. Increased the horizontal range in which they can spawn shaderain.
    • Can now have 2 Dark Hearts alive at once and Dark Hearts spawn rain faster in Revengeance Mode.
    • Now has increased base drift speed and speed boost as its health lowers, and Dark Hearts have higher velocity and acceleration and spawn rain even faster in Death Mode.
    • Now drifts towards the player faster, spends less time drifting towards the player, phase 2 teleport timer accelerates even faster when getting hit, teleports faster, shoots vile spit while circling the player before a charge, charges faster, Hive Blobs shoot faster and have faster projectiles, and Dank Creepers charge faster in Master Mode.
    • Greatly increased despawn distance.

    King Slime

    • Nerfed Ruby Jewel and Sapphire Jewel's health from 280 Revengeance Mode / 420 Revengeance Mode Master Mode to 240 Revengeance Mode / 360 Revengeance Mode Master Mode, and Emerald Jewel's health from 560 Revengeance Mode / 840 Revengeance Mode Master Mode to 480 Revengeance Mode / 720 Revengeance Mode Master Mode.
    • Now spawns the Emerald Jewel at 70% health and Sapphire Jewel at 30% health in Revengeance Master Mode.
    • Ruby Jewel now fires 4 ruby bolts in Death Mode instead of 5, and increased the spread of the ruby bolts. It still fires 5 ruby bolts in Death Master Mode.
    • Sapphire Jewel now hovers above King Slime instead of the player, and teleports with King Slime.

    Lunatic Cultist

    • Ice mists no longer inflict Frozen if the player is already inflicted with Frozen.

    Moon Lord

    • Now plays "Storms before the catastrophes" after being defeated for the first time.

    Profaned Guardians

    • Now displays the combined health of all three Guardians on the vanilla boss health bar.
    • No longer enrage outside the Hallow or Underworld.
    • Now enrage at nighttime instead of despawning.
    • Guardian Healer no longer spawns healing cocoon stars while enraged.
    • Now use cyan glowmasks at nighttime instead of in the Don't dig up seed.
    • Projectiles and shields now draw with a cyan color at nighttime.

    Queen Bee

    • Reduced acceleration during the stinger attack.
    • Bee spawning now uses a different sound from her hit sound.

    Ravager

    • Weak Petrification no longer disables mounts, slow fall, or gravity control, and no longer removes jump speed boosts.

    Skeletron

    • Nerfed hand's health from 600 / 1560 Expert Mode / 1404 Revengeance Mode / 1014 Death Mode / 1989 Master Mode / 1788 Revengeance Mode Master Mode / 1290 Death Mode Master Mode to 600 / 1560 Expert Mode / 1170 Revengeance Mode / 780 Death Mode / 1989 Master Mode / 1491 Revengeance Mode Master Mode / 994 Death Mode Master Mode.
    • Decreased how fast the head backs away before the spin charge in Revengeance Mode.

    Supreme Witch, Calamitas

    • Now plays a full, long-fade variant of "Stained, Brutal Calamity (Acceptance)" after being defeated for the first time.

    Yharon, Dragon of Rebirth

    • Now considered an organic enemy.
    • Now plays "Catastrophes before the calamity" after being defeated for the first time.

    Armor and Accessories

    • Rebalanced The Absorber. Nerfed defense boost from 15 to 10, but it now deals an extra 350 base damage to enemies that hit the player.
    • Rebalanced Alchemical Flask. It no longer grants immunity to Plague, and instead reduces its damage by 66%. Plague seekers now have a 7 frame cooldown instead of having a limit of 3 alive at once. Nerfed plague seeker's base damage from 30 to 10, but they now have an innate 20 armor penetration, pierce once, and have 1 extra update. Getting hit now grants the Honey buff and spawns plague seekers that deal 15 base damage and have an innate 35 armor penetration.
    • Nerfed Ambrosial Ampoule's max health boost from 70 to 50.
    • Nerfed Amphibian Boots' jump speed boost from 32% to 20%.
    • Nerfed Ankh Shield's defense boost from 12 to 8.
    • Nerfed Asgardian Aegis' defense boost from 20 to 12.
    • Nerfed Asgard's Valor's defense boost from 12 to 8.
    • Buffed Baroclaw, it now gives 5% damage reduction. It now deals an extra 250 base damage to enemies that hit the player.
    • Buffed Craw Carapace's damage boost from 5% to 7%. It now deals an extra 40 base damage to enemies that hit the player.
    • Nerfed Elysian Aegis' defense boost from 16 to 10.
    • Nerfed Frozen Shield's defense boost from 13 to 10.
    • Nerfed Hero Shield's defense boost from 20 to 15.
    • Leviathan Ambergris' dash no longer applies knockback to the Celestial Pillars or while a boss is alive.
    • Increased the velocity of Mana Polarizer's healing orbs by 33%.
    • Nerfed Mythril armor's set bonus flare damage from 40% base damage to 30%, and damage soft cap from 50 to 40.
    • Nerfed Nucleogenesis, it no longer makes minion attacks inflict Holy Flames.
    • Nerfed Obsidian Shield's defense boost from 7 to 6.
    • Buffed Old Duke's Scales, decreased how much time it takes to recover stamina from 2 seconds to 1.5. Increased how fast stamina recovers, and faster stamina recovery is now triggered by not holding any movement keys instead of standing still.
    • Nerfed Ornate Shield's defense boost from 8 to 4.
    • Nerfed Paladin's Shield's defense boost from 9 to 8.
    • Nerfed Radiance's max health boost from 100 to 70. Decreased scaling life regeneration boost based on health from 6-14 to 4-12.
    • Nerfed Rampart of Deities' defense boost from 18 to 12.
    • Nerfed Regenator's defense boost from 10 to 4.
    • Nerfed Shield of the High Ruler's defense boost from 12 to 6.
    • Nerfed Slagsplitter Pauldron's dash base damage from 175 to 170. It now spawns a damage hitbox every 6 frames while dashing instead of 5, and dash now grants 22 ID-static immunity frames instead of -1 local immunity frames.
    • Rebalanced Statis' Blessing and Statis' Curse. Buffed summon damage boosts from 10% to 12%, but they no longer make minion attacks inflict Holy Flames.
    • Sulphurous armor changes:
      • Nerfed Sulphurous Beastplate's rogue damage boost from 8% to 6%, and rogue critical strike chance boost from 5% to 4%.
      • Nerfed set bonus max stealth from 70 to 65. Set bonus now inflicts Poisoned for 1 second instead of 2.
    • Nerfed Yharim's Gift's defense boost from 30 to 15.

    Weapons

    • Buffed Air Spinner's damage from 26 to 29 and range from 20 tiles to 20.625.
    • Nerfed Angelic Shotgun's damage from 96 to 92 and use time from 24 to 26. It now fires 5-6 bullets per use instead of 5-7, and lasers now deal 250% base damage instead of 300%.
    • Buffed Aorta's damage from 29 to 31 and range from 20 tiles to 20.625.
    • Buffed Aquashard Shotgun's shot speed from 22 to 30. Main aquashards now have 1 extra update. Split shards now deal 60% base damage instead of 40% and have 1 extra update.
    • Nerfed Ballistic Poison Bomb, stealth strikes now spawn 7-10 clouds instead of 8-12, and clouds now pierce 4 times instead of infinitely.
    • Buffed Bee Gun's damage from 10 to 13.
    • Buffed Bee Keeper's damage from 30 to 32.
    • Buffed The Bee's Knees' damage from 18 to 24. Bee arrows now have 1 extra update.
    • Rebalanced Blood Boiler. Decreased lifesteal when hitting an enemy from 4-6 to 3-5, but it no longer completely disables life regeneration while being used.
    • Buffed Bloodfire Bullet, bullets now increase natural life regeneration by 3 on hit instead of 2. Increased how much natural life regeneration affects the damage boost formula and increased the damage boost cap from 25 to 35.
    • Nerfed Cinder Arrow, explosion now deals 40% base damage instead of 50%, and shards now deal 6% base damage instead of 10%.
    • Buffed Dank Staff's damage from 9 to 14.
    • Buffed Disseminator's damage from 58 to 61, and use time from 35 to 32.
    • Rebalanced Dryad's Tear. Buffed damage from 8 to 10. Split bullets now deal 10% base damage instead of 30%, but now have 10 innate armor penetration.
    • Rebalanced Elemental Lance. Buffed damage from 160 to 240, but nerfed use time from 30 to 45.
    • Buffed Eviscerator's damage from 65 to 70. Blood clots now inflict Burning Blood for 4 seconds instead of 1.5.
    • Nerfed Feather Knife, stealth strikes now have an 80% damage modifier.
    • Buffed Flesh of Infidelity's damage from 15 to 20. Blood projectiles now have 1 extra update.
    • Rebalanced Goldplume Spear. Buffed damage from 27 to 37, but nerfed use time from 23 to 28. Feathers now have 1 extra update.
    • Rebalanced Greatsword of Judgement. Buffed damage from 40 to 85. Main projectile now homes in slightly faster and lasts 1.5 seconds instead of 1, but spawns side projectiles every 15 frames instead of 5. Side projectiles now deal 50% base damage. Aura projectile no longer deals damage. Increased the homing speed of whiterain projectiles, and increased their homing range from 12.5 tiles to 20.
    • Rebalanced Hailstorm Bullet. It now travels slightly farther and inflicts Frostbite instead of Frostburn. Critical hits now inflict Glacial State for 2 seconds instead of Frostbite for 5 seconds, but only inflict Glacial State if the enemy is not a boss. Flash freeze now deals 50% base damage instead of 36%.
    • Buffed Harvest Staff's damage from 26 to 27.
    • Nerfed Holy Fire Bullet's damage from 22 to 20. Explosions now deal 27.5% base damage instead of 33%.
    • Buffed Hornet Staff's damage from 13 to 18.
    • Rebalanced Hyperius Bullet. Split bullets now deal 10% base damage instead of 15%, but now deal 16 extra flat damage instead of 10.
    • Nerfed Icicle Arrow, falling arrows now deal 110% base damage instead of 135%, and lose 50% damage on the second hit instead of 40%.
    • Rebalanced Infinity. Nerfed damage from 110 to 85 and shot speed from 12 to 6, but buffed use time from 2 to 1 and use animation from 12 to 4. It now fires continuously in a sine-wave pattern instead of in bursts of bullets and has an 80% chance to not consume ammo. Charged blasts now have 6 extra updates instead of 1. Split blasts now aim in a backwards spread instead of in random directions, have 5 extra updates instead of 1, and grant 15 local immunity frames instead of -1, but deal 30% base damage instead of 50%. Split blasts now turn around after traveling a certain distance, allowing them to hit multiple times. Both blasts now have an innate 25 armor penetration.
    • Nerfed Leviatitan's damage from 80 to 77, and use time from 9 to 10.
    • Nerfed Luminite Bullet's damage from 20 to 19.
    • Buffed Perfect Dark's damage from 26 to 29, and shot speed from 12 to 14.5.
    • Buffed Pew-matic Horn's damage from 24 to 25, and shot speed from 14 to 15.
    • Prismalline and Sparkling Empress' shards now have 1 extra update.
    • Buffed Pulse Pistol's damage from 23 to 27.
    • Rebalanced Realm Ravager. Buffed damage from 50 to 54. It now fires 4 bullets per use instead of 3-4, and 1 bullet is always aimed at the cursor. Convert bullet explosions now deal 33% base damage instead of 50%.
    • Buffed S.D.M.G.'s damage from 80 to 85.
    • Buffed Shaderain Staff, clouds now inflict Brain Rot for 3 seconds instead of 2, and shaderain now inflict Brain Rot for 2 seconds instead of 1.5.
    • Rebalanced Shadethrower. Nerfed damage from 23 to 22, but flames now grant 10 ID-static immunity frames instead of 15.
    • Rebalanced Shredder. Buffed damage from 31 to 45, but nerfed use animation from 24 to 32, reuse delay from 20 to 35, and shot speed from 9 to 5. It now fires 3 bullets per shot instead of 4, and right click no longer has 2x velocity, but it now has a 60% chance to not consume ammo. Charged blasts now have 6 extra updates instead of 1. Split blasts now aim in a backwards spread instead of in random directions, have 5 extra updates instead of 1, and grant 15 local immunity frames instead of -1.
    • Buffed Sniper Rifle's damage from 185 to 215.
    • Rebalanced Spark Spreader. Buffed damage from 10 to 16. It now fires in bursts of 4 with a 0.2 second delay in between, instead of in bursts of 3.
    • Buffed Sprouting Arrow, main arrow now deals 30% base damage instead of 18%, and split arrows now deal 60% base damage instead of 54%.
    • Buffed Tactical Shotgun's damage from 34 to 41.
    • Buffed Taser's damage from 15 to 20, and shot speed from 15 to 25.
    • Buffed Tracking Disk's damage from 16 to 19.
    • Buffed Tradewinds' damage from 23 to 27, and shot speed from 20 to 25.5.
    • Buffed Turbulance's damage from 18 to 28. Wind slashes now last 4 seconds instead of 3.
    • Buffed Vein Burster's damage from 42 to 47, and shot speed from 13 to 16.
    • Buffed Venus Magnum's damage from 50 to 65.
    • Buffed Verium Bolt's damage from 7 to 11.
    • Rebalanced Weather Pain. Tornadoes now have 2 extra updates, but last 7.77 seconds instead of 9.5.
    • Buffed Wind Blade's shot speed from 3 to 5.

    Other

    • Changed how the Drunk Princess' Candles work:
      • Increased the sell price of all Candles from 5 Gold Coin to 40 Gold Coin, and they now use the Rarity Level: 5 rarity instead of Rarity Level: 4.
      • Now act as buff stations that give a permanent buff when right clicked, instead of giving their buff to any player in a certain radius around them.
      • Candle buffs are now mutually exclusive. Applying a new Candle buff will remove any current Candle buff the player has.
      • Nerfed Resilient Candle's defense effectiveness boost from 15% to 10%.
      • Buffed Spiteful Candle's damage multiplier from 1.05x to 1.07x.
      • Buffed Weightless Candle's horizontal acceleration boost from 5% to 10%.
    • The player now gains a 5 second global cooldown to immobilizing debuffs after being inflicted with Frozen, Glacial State, Stoned, or Webbed.
    • Decreased Astral Infection's reduced player damage from 15% to 10%.
    • Decreased Plague's reduced player damage from 15% to 10%, and it no longer darkens the player's vision.
    • Warmth Potion no longer grants immunity to Chilled, Frozen, and Glacial State, and instead makes them last one third of their normal duration.
    • Decreased Whispering Death's reduced player damage from 25% to 20%.

    Recipes

    • Alchemical Flask now uses Honey Comb, 8 Bee Wax, and 15 Plague Cell Canisters in its recipe instead of 5 Bee Wax and 10 Plague Cell Canisters.
    • Ash Wood Sword is now part of the "Any Wooden Sword" recipe group.
    • Svantechnical now uses Infinity in its recipe instead of SDFMG, 10 Souls of Might, 10 Souls of Sight, and 10 Souls of Fright.

    Resprites

    Reworks

    • Reworked Svantechnical, it no longer rapidly fires bullets from the gun alongside an inaccurate spread of bullets from the cursor, and no longer has a scope effect on right click. It now fires 3 bullets at once in a sine-wave pattern; left click converts bullets to charged blasts, while right click does not convert bullets. Charged blasts split into 2 split blasts on hit that deal 30% base damage. Split bullets home in towards the cursor until traveling close enough to it, allowing them to hit multiple times. Both blasts have an innate 100 armor penetration. Buffed damage from 150 to 200, use time from 2 to 1, and use animation from 24 to 3, but nerfed shot speed from 12 to 6. It now has a 90% chance to not consume ammo instead of 70%.
    • Reworked Toxic Heart, it no longer grants immunity to Plague or spawns a damaging aura around the player that inflicts Plague. It now causes plague pulses to be constantly spawned that damage enemies and inflict Plague. The frequency of pulses scales based on how low the player's life regeneration is, reaching its maximum at -30 life regeneration. If an enemy is killed by a plague pulse, it will spawn an additional plague pulse from its death location and heal the player for 10 health.

    Fixes

    • Fixed several Abyss and Sunken Sea ambient tiles being destroyed when touching water.
    • Fixed Altar of the Accursed's tooltip still saying that Hearts heal for half health during the Supreme Witch, Calamitas fight.
    • Attempted to fix Ascendant Insignia's cooldown spamming log errors while in multiplayer.
    • Fixed the Bandit and Drunk Princess not turning rainbow while under the effects of Odd Mushroom.
    • Fixed Bloodfire Arrows not removing health when fired during the lifesteal cooldown.
    • Fixed Broken Water Filter not properly disabling natural Acid Rains.
    • Fixed melee prefix rolling breaking with weapons that cannot get Legendary with the Remove Remove RNG configuration option enabled.
    • Fixed Cosmic Viper Engine, Endogenesis, Forgotten Apex Wand, Gastric Belcher Staff, and Resurrection Butterfly causing issues when summoned with the loadout book from the Summoner's Association mod.
    • Disabled the custom tile merging system to fix a memory leak caused by it.
    • FIxed The Dark Master's clone damage and critical strike chance not updating dynamically.
    • Fixed The Dark Master's clones shooting projectiles on every frame after swapping between The Dark Master items.
    • Fixed Deerclops' ice spikes not dealing damage in Revengeance Mode.
    • Fixed Desert Scourge sometimes spamming a massive amount of sand blasts if it is caught below the player during the burrow attack.
    • Fixed Desert Scourge still spawning Desert Nuisances at the start of the fight in Boss Rush.
    • Fixed Downpour and Sandstream Scepter's explosions dealing rogue damage instead of magic damage.
    • Fixed Dragon's Breath's position in its firing sequence being saved after the item stops firing and when swapping between different Dragon's Breath items.
    • Fixed Duke Fishron's map icon disappearing at the wrong times in Revengeance Master Mode.
    • Fixed Eye of Cthulhu's blood shots always dealing 15 damage instead of its damage scaling based on difficulty.
    • Fixed Frostbite Blaster having a strange holdout offset.
    • Fixed Hailstorm Bullet's flash freeze damage scaling twice with ranged damage.
    • Fixed Hardened Honeycomb spawning twice as many projectiles as intended when hitting enemies.
    • Fixed additional desync issues with Harvest Staff in multiplayer.
    • Fixed Havoc's Breath's flames not fading properly.
    • Fixed The Hive Mind's Devourer and Eater of Souls limits in phase 1 only working properly if both limits were reached.
    • Fixed Hyperius Bullet's split bullets dealing much more damage when spawned from tile collisions than from enemy collisions.
    • Fixed Icicle Arrows accelerating upwards at high speed when rising into tiles.
    • Fixed King Slime despawning from attempting to teleport out of bounds in Revengeance Mode.
