The Leviathan Ambergris is a Hardmode accessory that is dropped by the Leviathan and Anahita. When equipped, it increases dash velocity by 20% and reduces the dash cooldown by 33% after a short delay. While dashing into enemies, it surrounds the player with a seawater trail that deals damage and heavy knockback. The damage of the dash can be increased by all class damage bonuses. The dash inflicts the Wet and Riptide debuffs.



  • Ambergris is a waxy substance produced in the digestive systems of whales.


These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • Dash no longer applies knockback to the Celestial Pillars or while a boss is alive.
  • Dash damage now scales with the best class damage.
    • Buffed dash velocity boost from 15% to 20%, it now reduces the dash cooldown by 33%, and it now inflicts Riptide for 3 seconds instead of 1.
    • No longer grants 5% damage reduction while dashing.
    • Decreased the knockback caused by its dash.
    • Fixed its dash being able to knock back non-enemy NPCs such as Target Dummies.
    • Reworked:
      • No longer provides increased damage, defense, and movement speed or a damaging aura while in liquids, increases stats outside of liquids, or leaves behind a trail of poisonous seawater.
      • Now increases dash velocity by 15%, and grants 5% damage reduction while dashing.
      • While dashing, the player is surrounded by a seawater trail that deals damage, causes heavy knockback, and inflicts the Wet and Riptide debuffs.
    • Now grants 20 defense. Nerfed defense boost while submerged from 20 to 10.
    • Seawater now inflicts Venom for 1 second instead of 2.
  • Nerfed movement speed boost in liquids from 75% to 30%.
  • Poisonous seawater now lasts shorter and produces less dust.
  • Now increases damage while out of liquid instead of decreasing it.
    • Changed how it calculates stat boosts.
    • Adjusted seawater's dust.
  • 1.1.7: Now lets the player ignore water.
