Mollusk armor is a craftable Hardmode armor set crafted from Mollusk Husks and Sea Prisms.
It consists of the Mollusk Shellmet, Mollusk Shellplate, and Mollusk Shelleggings.
The full set grants the following effects while equipped (this includes the set bonus):
- +45 defense
- +17% damage
- +13% critical strike chance
- +10% increased damage reduction
- The ability to move freely through liquids
- Summons two Shellfish minions that deal 140 damage on hit, then latch onto the enemy and inflict the Shellfish Claps debuff, which deals 75 damage per second per Shellfish attached to a target.
- Roughly -51% horizontal speed per second

Notes
- The Shellfish minions are the same minions summoned by the Shellfish Staff.
- The set bonus also grants 4 minion slots. However, these slots are used to summon its Shellfish minions, resulting in no net gain in minion slots for the player.
Tips
- This armor can be paired with the helmets of Adamantite and Titanium armor for the strongest offensive stats possible while avoiding the dash and sprinting reduction from the set bonus.
- The armor set's large decrease to movement speed can make it difficult to use for fast-paced boss fights such as The Twins.
- The player should choose another accessory to replace the Hermes Boots (or their upgrades), since this armor's set bonus largely negates their sprinting effect.
- Certain items such as Asphalt Blocks, Harpy Wings, Sunflowers, Swiftness Potions, and Vital Jelly can be combined to combat the movement speed reduction.
Trivia
- The armor set and its minions resemble the Giant Clam.
History
These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
- 2.1.0:
- Nerfed Mollusk Shellmet's defense from 18 to 15, Mollusk Shellplate's defense from 22 to 18, and Mollusk Shelleggings' defense from 15 to 12.
- All individual pieces now multiply horizontal velocity by 0.996x per frame, instead of the set bonus multiplying it by 0.985x per frame.
- Nerfed Mollusk Shellplate's damage boost from 10% to 6% and critical strike chance boost from 6% to 5%, but it no longer reduces movement speed by 15%.
- Nerfed Mollusk Shelleggings' damage boost from 12% to 6%, but it no longer reduces movement speed by 7%.
- Set bonus now grants 10% damage reduction instead of 10% damage.
