Luxor's Gift is a Pre-Hardmode accessory that is obtained from the Sandstone Chest found in the Underground Desert shrine. When equipped, most weapons will release 1 of 5 projectiles that change based on the weapon's damage type with each use.
Projectile Types
Type | Damage Type | Description |
---|---|---|
![]() |
Melee | Red orbs bounce off tiles, pierce twice, dissipate after 5 seconds and deal 25% of the weapon's base damage. |
![]() |
Ranged | Blue lightning bolts deal 15% of the weapon's base damage and hits the enemy twice. |
![]() |
Magic | Orange pendants pierce once and slow down by 75% on hit. They deal 30% of the weapon's base damage. |
![]() |
Summon | A green hieroglyph minion which dashes into enemies, similar to the Deadly Sphere Staff's minion. Damage dealt is shared with the initial weapon used to summon it, and only 1 hieroglyph can exist at a time. |
![]() |
Rogue | Purple scorpions are affected by gravity, bounce and pierce 3 times, and deal 20% of the weapon's base damage. |
Notes
- All projectiles from this accessory inflict 10 local immunity frames.
- Due to this, and the fact that magic pendants slow down considerably after hitting a target, the pendants are able to hit the same target twice.
- Most channeling and true melee weapons are not affected as well as various vanilla weapons.
- True melee spears and shortswords are still affected by Luxor's Gift.
- The projectiles deal less damage when used with weapons with a use time less than 10.
- The damage decreases by 10% for each point of use time below 10, (i.e. a use time of 4 would deal 60% less damage).
- When used with certain broadswords that use a separate cooldown timer for firing their projectile, such as the Enchanted Sword, the accessory's projectile will share that cooldown.
- The projectiles' velocity scales with the velocity of the used weapon.
- Unlike most minions, the green sign does not have an associated buff.
- The green sign can be canceled by unequipping the accessory; otherwise, it will not dissipate until the player dies.
- Despite behaving like an extra minion, it is possible to produce a green sign with whips due to them dealing summon damage.
- As the extra projectiles' damages are dictated solely by the weapon's base damage and its use time, weapons that fire projectiles with a fraction of their base damage such as the Blade of Grass synergize especially well with this accessory.
Trivia
- This accessory is a reference to the video game Luxor, in which the player aims to break chains of colored balls before they reach a certain endpoint. The game is in turn a reference to the Egyptian city of Luxor.
- The item appearing in the Underground Desert is also a reference to the game's ancient Egyptian style and the city it is named after.
- The green summon sign is the Egyptian hieroglyph for "Feather" or "E".
- The red melee orb is the Egyptian hieroglyph for "Sun" or "sun-disc".
- The orange magic pendant bears similarities to the Egyptian hieroglyph known as the Ankh, which symbolizes life.
