Dragon Scales are a post-Moon Lord rogue accessory that is sold by the Bandit for 20 Platinum Coin after Yharon, Dragon of Rebirth has been defeated. It grants the following effects while equipped:

  • +10% movement speed and acceleration
  • Immunity to the Dragonfire debuff
  • Rogue projectiles release fireballs as they travel
    • Fireballs are spawned every 0.83 seconds, slowly homing into nearby enemies, or spinning in place otherwise. They deal 57 damage and have 10 armor penetration. Up to 5 fireballs can exist at a time.
  • Performing a stealth strike creates a massive infernado on enemy hits, which lingers for a long time. They deal 300 damage constantly, and only one infernado can exist at a time.

Trivia

  • The fireballs created from rogue projectiles are called 'DragonShit' in the source code.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Reworded tooltip to no longer use "on death".
    • Increased sell price from 30 Gold Coin to 48 Gold Coin.
  • 2.0.3.007:
    • Buffed fireball base damage from 55 to 57.
    • Fireballs now last 7.5 seconds instead of 5, and have an innate 10 armor penetration.
  • 2.0.2.001: Infernadoes and fireballs now inflict Dragonfire, increased fireballs' base damage from 50 to 55.
  • 1.5.0.001:
    • Infernado projectile now lasts 14 seconds instead of 7. Nerfed base damage from 840 to 550, projectile size is no longer scaled up, and it now grants enemies 10 ID-static immunity frames instead of 1 local immunity frame.
    • Fireballs now deal rogue damage and now have a base damage of 80.
    • Now additionally boosts running acceleration by 10%.
    • Now only purchasable after defeating Yharon and no longer has a one-time purchase gimmick.
  • 1.4.5.004: Resprited projectiles. Previous sprites were Dragon Scales Fireball (1.4.5.002).gif Infernado (friendly) (1.4.5.002).gif
  • 1.4.5.003:
    • Fireballs now have a soft damage cap of 300.
    • Frequency of fireballs can no longer be influenced.
  • 1.4.5.002:
    • Resprited tornadoes and fireballs. Previous sprites were Flare Dust (1.1.5.09).gif Flarenado (1.1.5.09).gif
    • Fixed tornadoes dealing magic damage instead of rogue damage.
  • 1.4.5.001: Fixed grammar issues in its tooltip.
  • 1.4.2.107:
    • Extra projectiles no longer infinitely combo off of each other.
    • Fireballs now grant -1 local immunity frames.
