The Rover Drive is a Pre-Hardmode accessory that is dropped by Wulfrum Rovers. When equipped for 10 seconds without taking damage, a protective matrix covers its user, which grants 10 defense and 20 matrix durability. If the player gets hit, durability is lost instead of health by the amount of damage taken, without naturally regenerating itself back. Once all 20 durability is depleted, the shield breaks and requires 10 seconds to recharge. Taking a hit while recharging resets the timer.
It can also be used at an Extractinator for Energy Cores and Wulfrum Metal Scraps.

Notes
- The player is able to regenerate the protective matrix using the Wulfrum Controller while its minions are recalled to the player.

- The name of the accessory is a reference to a former mod developer and wiki editor RoverdriveX.

- 2.0.3.008: Shield can now be dyed, and no longer changes color based on the player's team.
- 2.0.3.003:
- Reworked, it now grants a shield with 20 durability instead of increasing max health by its current durability, up to 40. It still grants 10 defense while the shield is up, and takes 10 seconds for the shield to recharge.
- Tooltip now states that its shield color changes depending on what team the player is on.
- 2.0.2.001: Nerfed protection matrix durability from 50 to 40.

- The protective matrix has a 10 second cooldown, and taking direct damage while the matrix is on cooldown will reset the cooldown to 10 seconds.
