The 1.2.0.002 update made various rebalances and changes to the Stress mechanic, Polterghast, and The Devourer of Gods. The update also added fishing item drops to Desert Scourge and Siren and Leviathan, added summoning items to Town NPC shops after their respective bosses have been defeated, and fixes to content introduced in 1.2.0.001.

Changes

Bosses

  • Increased the drop rate for legendary items from specific bosses from 0.01% to 0.2% / 0.22% Expert Mode in pre-Hardmode, 0.02% / 0.022% Expert Mode to 0.33% / 0.4% Expert Mode in Hardmode, and 0.1% / 0.13% Expert Mode to 2% / 2.5% Expert Mode post-Moon Lord.
  • Various bosses and enemies now inflict Marked for Death in Revengeance Mode for varying amounts of time:
    • Snatcher inflicts it for 1 second.
    • Aquatic Aberration, Blood Zombie, Burning Sphere, Cosmic Lantern, Creeper, Cursed Skull, Dank Creeper, Dark Mummy, Enchanted Sword, The Hungry, Man Eater, Mummy, Phantom Spirit, The Plaguebringer Goliath, Pumpking's blade, Skeletron's hand, and Werewolf inflict it for 2 seconds.
    • Bone Lee, Butcher, Duke Fishron, Dungeon Spirit, Eater of Worlds' head, Flocko, Giant Cursed Skull, Golem's fist, Martian Drone, Prime Saw, Prime Vice, Probe, Providence Offense Guardian, Psycho, Queen Bee, Reaper, Servant of Cthulhu, Shadowflame Apparition, Sharkron, Spazmatism, Spore, Vampire, and Wraith inflict it for 3 seconds.
    • Ancient Vision, Angry Trapper, and Mimic inflict it for 4 seconds.
    • Ancient Doom, melee Detonating Flame, and True Eye of Cthulhu inflict it for 5 seconds.
    • Detonating Bubble inflicts it for 6 seconds.
  • Astrum Deus

    • Body segments no longer fire more lasers if the player has high Stress.

    Brimstone Elemental

    • Hellfireball speed no longer increases with Stress.

    Calamitas

    • Both phases no longer fire more lasers if the player has high Stress.

    Desert Scourge

    The Destroyer

    • No longer fires lasers more often if the player has high Stress.

    The Devourer of Gods

    • Nerfed health from 750,000 / 1,200,000 Expert Mode / 1,280,000 Revengeance Mode to 650,000 / 1,040,000 Expert Mode / 1,120,000 Revengeance Mode.
    • The second Devourer of Gods now spawns once The Devourer of Gods reaches 20% health instead of 50%.
    • The second Devourer of Gods now spawns after a 1 second countdown instead of instantly.
    • Now gains 150,000 base health when below 600,000 health and only one Devourer is alive.
    • Orb projectiles now gradually slow down.
    • Now spawns an additional Beam Portal.
    • Decreased number of lasers shot by body segments.
    • Changed hit sounds for the head and tail.
    • Tail now has a map icon.

    Eater of Worlds

    • No longer fires cursed fireballs more often if the player has high Stress.

    Golem

    • No longer gets more aggressive with high Stress.

    Jungle Dragon, Yharon

    • Increased enrage distance and the distance at which his border Infernadoes spawn.
    • Border Infernadoes now have a rainbow filter, spawn quicker, instantly kill the player on contact, and are larger.

    Lunatic Cultist

    • Nerfed global hostile damage multiplier from 1.4500000476837158x to 1.3500000238418579x.
    • Phantasm Dragon now gains a 15x Revengeance Mode health modifier in Revengeance Mode.

    The Plaguebringer Goliath

    • Reduced the amount of dust produced when hit.
    • Reduced the amount of dust produced by The Plaguebringer Goliath and its Plaguebringer Shade's missiles.

    Plantera

    • No longer gets more aggressive with high Stress.

    Polterghast

    • Buffed base contact damage from 100 / 160 Expert Mode to 125 / 200 Expert Mode, Necroghast's contact damage from 120 / 192 Expert Mode to 150 / 240 Expert Mode, and Necroplasm's contact damage from 220 / 352 Expert Mode to 250 / 400 Expert Mode.
    • Nerfed Necroplasm's defense from 600 to 400.
    • Buffed blue phantom shot damage from 100 / 200 Expert Mode to 110 / 220 Expert Mode, and blue phantom blast damage from 120 / 240 Expert Mode to 130 / 260 Expert Mode.
    • Buffed red phantom shot damage from 120 / 240 Expert Mode to 130 / 260 Expert Mode, and red phantom blast damage from 130 / 260 Expert Mode to 140 / 280 Expert Mode.
    • Buffed Polterghast Hook's damage from 190 / 266 Expert Mode to 250 / 350 Expert Mode.
    • Buffed Phantom's mine damage from 124 / 200 Expert Mode to 204 / 320 Expert Mode.
    • Buffed blue Phantom Turret's phantom shot damage from 90 / 180 Expert Mode to 120 / 240 Expert Mode.
    • Buffed red Phantom Turret's phantom shot damage from 106 / 212 Expert Mode to 140 / 280 Expert Mode.
    • Phantom Turrets now shoot phantom shots more often.
    • Now takes up 50 NPC slots instead of 25.
    • Increased resistance to Ichor.

    Providence, the Profaned God

    Queen Bee

    • No longer becomes more aggressive if the player has high Stress.

    Signus, Envoy of the Devourer

    • Fireball speed no longer increases with Stress.

    Siren and Leviathan

    Skeletron Prime

    • No longer spins more often if the player has high Stress.
    • Prime Cannon no longer fires more often if the player has high Stress.

    Storm Weaver

    • Body segments now classify as bosses.

    Supreme Calamitas

    • Can now drop Crystyl Crusher or Svantechnical.
    • Brothers now slowly move back and forth horizontally instead of staying in a set position.
    • Brothers now instantly despawn once Supreme Calamitas is defeated or despawns, instead of having their defense set to 0 and damage taken multiplied by 100.

    Enemies

    • Increased the drop rate for legendary items from normal enemies from 0.0002% to 0.001% during pre-Hardmode, 0.0004% to 0.002% in Hardmode, and 0.001% to 0.004% post-Moon Lord.
    • Nerfed Angry Dog's health from 500 / 600 Expert Mode to 100 / 110 Expert Mode, damage from 25 / 35 Expert Mode to 12 / 13 Expert Mode, and defense from 6 to 4. It now gains additional health, damage, and defense after defeating Cryogen. Decreased Bleeding duration on contact from 2.67 / 5 Expert Mode seconds to 1.33.
    • Nerfed Cnidrion's health from 1300 / 1560 Expert Mode to 900 / 1080 Expert Mode.
    • Buffed Phantom Spirit's damage from 110 / 176 Expert Mode to 250 / 400 Expert Mode.
    • Stasis Probes are now immune to accessories which have a chance to instantly kill enemies such as Elemental Gauntlet.

    Balance

    Armor and Accessories

    • Nerfed Ambrosial Ampoule's damage reduction boost from 12% to 6%.
    • Nerfed Bloodflare Core's damage reduction boost when below 50% health from 15% to 10%, and damage reduction boost when below 15% health from 30% to 20%.
    • Changes to the Cloud Elemental minion summoned by Eye of the Storm and Heart of the Elements:
      • Shifted sprite offset.
      • Increased local immunity frames from 10 initially, 8 post-Golem, 4 post-Moon Lord, 2 post-Devourer of Gods, and 1 post-Yharon to 20 initially, 15 post-Golem, 10 post-Moon Lord, 6 post-Devourer of Gods, and 3 post-Yharon.
      • Tornado marks now grant 30 local immunity frames initially, 25 post-Golem, 20 post-Moon Lord, 16 post-Devourer of Gods, and 13 post-Yharon.
      • Increased tornado local immunity frames from 15 initially, 9 post-Golem, 7 post-Moon Lord, 5 post-Devourer of Gods, and 3 post-Yharon to 20 initially, 15 post-Golem, 10 post-Moon Lord, 6 post-Devourer of Gods, and 3 post-Yharon.
      • Tornadoes now only infinitely pierce after defeating Moon Lord, and pierce 3 times beforehand.
      • Tornadoes now last thrice as long and no longer produce dust.
    • Shifted sprite offset of the Siren Lure minion summoned by Heart of the Elements and Pearl of Enthrallment.
    • Changes to the Sand Elemental and Rare Sand Elemental minions summoned by Heart of the Elements, Rare Waifu in a Bottle, and Waifu in a Bottle:
      • Shifted sprite offset.
      • Increased local immunity frames from 10 initially, 8 post-Golem, 4 post-Moon Lord, 2 post-Devourer of Gods, and 1 post-Yharon to 20 initially, 15 post-Golem, 10 post-Moon Lord, 6 post-Devourer of Gods, and 3 post-Yharon.

      • Increased local immunity frames from 10 initially, 8 post-Golem, 4 post-Moon Lord, 2 post-Devourer of Gods, and 1 post-Yharon to 20 initially, 15 post-Golem, 10 post-Moon Lord, 6 post-Devourer of Gods, and 3 post-Yharon.
    • Nerfed The Sponge's damage reduction boost from 18% to 12%.

    Weapons

    • Nerfed Abyssal Tome, abyss balls now pierce 2 times instead of 3, and decreased Brimstone Flames duration from 6 seconds to 2.
    • Nerfed Bladecrest Oathsword, scythes now pierce once instead of twice.
    • Nerfed The Burning Sky's damage from 210 to 170.
    • Rebalanced Eldritch Tome. Tentacles now pierce 3 times instead of 2, but decreased Brimstone Flames duration from 4 seconds to 2.
    • Nerfed Gelitic Blade, wave projectile now pierces 2 times instead of 3.
    • Buffed Lashes of Chaos' damage from 72 to 98.
    • Nerfed Lunic Eye's damage from 18 to 7.
    • Nerfed Marked Magnum's damage from 8 to 3.
    • Primordial Earth's main projectile now lasts 3.33 seconds instead of 5 and produces less dust.
    • Nerfed Purge Guzzler's damage from 140 to 100.
    • Nerfed Shadowbolt Staff's damage from 380 to 350.
    • Tears of Heaven's projectiles now last 4 seconds instead of 6.
    • Buffed Vivid Clarity. Main beams now grant 1 local immunity frame instead of 3. Secondary beams now pierce infinitely instead of once and grant 3 local immunity frames. Split beams now last 1 second instead of 0.5 and grant 3 local immunity frames instead of 5.

    Other

    • Halved the life regeneration boost granted by Heart Attack during nighttime.
    • Horror now lasts twice as long in Expert Mode and higher.
    • Marked for Death can now be inflicted on the player.
    • Revengeance Mode now grants the player 5% extra damage instead of 10% after any boss has been defeated.
    • Stress changes:
      • Talking to female Town NPCs now decreases Stress.
      • Decreased the amount of Stress gained during a Blood Moon or being in the Dungeon.
      • Solar Eclipses now increase Stress.
      • Decreased the stat boosts gained with Stress by 50%.
      • Blackout is now inflicted for 2 seconds instead of 6.
      • The player is now inflicted with Obstructed for 2 seconds instead of taking damage at over 300 Stress.
      • The player now has a smaller chance to teleport to spawn at over 400 Stress, and the chance no longer scales if the player has Horror.
      • Talking to the Nurse with over 500 Stress no longer inflicts Potion Sickness.
    • Rebalanced Yharim's Stimulants. Nerfed damage boost from 22% to 10%, melee speed boost from 12% to 10%, and movement speed boost from 30% to 15%. Increased buff duration from 15 minutes to 30.

    Recipes

    • Aglet can now be crafted with 5 Any Iron Bars at an Anvil.
    • Anklet of the Wind can now be crafted with 15 Clouds, 15 Jungle Spores, and 5 Pink Gel at an Anvil.
    • Galactica Singularity now uses 1 Solar Fragment, Vortex Fragment, Nebula Fragment, and Stardust Fragment in its recipe instead of 3.
    • Lucky Horseshoe can now be crafted with 10 Clouds, 5 Any Gold Bars, and 10 Sunplate Blocks at an Anvil.
    • Rod of Discord can now be crafted with 5 Chaos Fish, 30 Souls of Light, and 50 Pixie Dust at a Hardmode Anvil.
