The Chalice of the Blood God is a craftable post-Moon Lord accessory. When equipped, it increases the player's maximum health by 25% and causes all incoming damage to be reduced to at most 5 direct damage. However, the remaining mitigated damage is converted into a bleeding effect which functions separately from standard life regeneration. Drinking any healing potion while bleeding will remove half of the remaining bleed damage. If the accessory is unequipped while bleeding, the remaining bleed damage will be dealt instantly.

  • It can be considered the counterpart to The Amalgam.
  • If the player is killed by the bleeding effect caused by the Chalice of the Blood God, one of the many unique death messages for the item will display.
  • Its flavor tooltip is a reference to a line spoken by Thanos in the movie Avengers: Infinity War.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.3.007:
    • Renamed from "Core of the Blood God" to "Chalice of the Blood God".
    • Reworked:
      • Buffed max health boost from 15% to 25%.
      • No longer halves contact damage on a 20 second cooldown or increases healing potion health boost.
      • Now reduces all damage taken to at most 5 damage, but converts the rest of the damage taken into damage over time bleeding. This bleeding functions separately from standard life regeneration.
      • Drinking a healing potion while bleeding will remove half of the remaining bleed damage. If the accessory is unequipped while bleeding, the remaining bleed damage is dealt instantly.
