Use

The Defiled Greatsword being repeatedly swung, with Sunlight blades (non-homing) hitting a Target Dummy, while Blazing Phantom and Hyper blades home in on a Super Dummy.

The Defiled Greatsword is a craftable post-Moon Lord broadsword that autoswings, and is the final upgrade to the Tainted Blade. On each swing it fires one of three projectiles, chosen at random. Each projectile can pass through walls and hit 5 times before dissipating, and their piercing abilities vary as a result of their different damage-dealing speeds. None of the projectiles fired by the Greatsword can home in on enemies who are behind walls, nor can they chase enemies if inside a wall. If not chasing a foe, the projectiles will gradually slow down and stop similar to those fired by the Death Sickle.

Striking an enemy with the Greatsword itself grants the Brutal Carnage buff to the player, increasing melee damage by 25% and melee critical strike chance by 10% for 5 seconds. The blade also inflicts Acid Venom debuff for 2.5 seconds.

On enemies, these combined debuffs cause the target to be unable to regenerate health, lose 20% damage reduction and lose 106 health per second.

Its best modifier is Legendary.
