Ambient objects

From Calamity Mod Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

Ambient objects are unobtainable, naturally-generated background objects that function primarily as visual ambience, and can be broken with any pickaxe. The Calamity Mod adds various ambient objects throughout most of the Calamity biomes.

Ambient objects usually have no effects, aside from the following:

  • Small Brain Coral, which randomly generates bubbles that can be collected for half a second of the Gills buff.
  • Brain Coral, which acts the same as Small Brain Coral, but with a Gills duration of 1.5 seconds.
  • Table Coral, which can be stood on.
  • Abyss Pearls, which have a 20% chance to drop a Pink Pearl and a 80% chance to drop a White Pearl upon being broken.
  • Fan Corals, which act as a natural Sunken Water Fountain, forcing all nearby Water to turn cyan regardless of if any other Sunken Sea tiles are nearby.
  • Bulb Trees, Fan Coral, Pire Coral, and Spider Coral which produce varying amounts of light.

Rubblemaker Support

Most of the Calamity Mod's ambient objects (with the exceptions of small coral piles, stalactites, and stalagmites) are supported by the Rubblemaker, allowing certain items to be used to place objects. Objects placed by the Rubblemaker are able to drop the item used to place them when broken unlike most naturally generated ambient objects. A full table of items that can be used by the Rubblemaker to place ambient objects can be found below.

One thing to note is that Massive Rare Pearls placed by the Rubblemaker will always drop White Pearls when broken instead of having a chance to drop a Pink Pearl.
