Magic Hat |
The Temporal Umbrella is a craftable post-Moon Lord developer summon weapon. It summons a Magic Hat on the player's head which then summons five tools, including an arrow, axe, hammer, rifle, and an umbrella. There can only be one Magic Hat and each of the tools at a time. It requires 5 minion slots to use.
Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage a Mythical Temporal Umbrella has over a Ruthless one is knockback.
Minion Types
Type | Description | |
---|---|---|
Vermillion Arrow | Quickly chases after its target at all times and deals 200% damage. | |
Jade Axe | Consistently charges at its target. After 20 charges which result in successful hits, a tree of a random biome variant falls down from above the target. The tree deals 1000% damage and has tripled knockback, and spawns three creatures when destroyed. The creatures include a homing Magic Bird and a bouncy explosive Magic Bunny, both dealing 50% damage and do not have knockback. | |
Marmalade Hammer | Moves close to its target and pivots while significantly growing in size to smash the target for 300% damage. Has a 5% chance to spawn confetti, play a special sound, and display the text Stylish! on hits. | |
Lavender Rifle | Lines up horizontally at a distance from its target and fires a Magic Bullet which has no knockback. After every 5 shots, spins and fires a Large Magic Bullet which deals 200% damage and pierces three enemies, then moves to the other side of the target. All bullets inflict Betsy's Curse, Ichor, Armor Crunch, Marked for Death, and Whispering Death for 3 seconds and emit a small amount of light. | |
Cyan Umbrella | Randomly moves close to its target and spins rapidly in a pattern or charges towards the target. |

Notes
- The Magic Hat's sprite on the player's head appears to have some cut off pixels on the bottom which makes it resemble them wearing a hat.
- However, if the player has the Invisibility buff active, the hat's sprite changes its appearance to show the entire sprite.
Trivia
- The word "Temporal" in the weapon's name, the phrase in the tooltip "Surprisingly sturdy, I reckon this could defeat the Mafia in a single blow", the buff tooltip "The hat carries your soul, bound by a contract", and the weapon's visuals are a reference to the game A Hat in Time.
- The use of a Top Hat and Umbrella in the crafting recipe is also a reference to A Hat in Time.
- The sound effect and text from the Marmalade Hammer's Stylish hits are a reference to Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.
- This weapon actually has a unique rarity but is referred to here as Hot Pink for consistency between weapons.
- This unique rarity alternates between purple (#D200FF ●) and yellow (#FFF818 ●) colors.
