The Ancient Shiv was a Pre-Hardmode shortsword that was dropped by Dark Casters. Upon killing an enemy with this sword, they would release a small blue aura cloud that had infinite pierce and lingered for 5 seconds. The cloud dealt 50% damage.

While it had an incredibly short range like most shortswords, it also had autoswing, rendering it slightly more effective.

Its best modifier was Legendary.
