The Brimstone Key was an unobtainable item. It had no purpose when it was removed.

Trivia

• The key previously allowed the player to access the since removed Locked Ashen Chests when the key was their inventory. It was not consumed when opening the chest, nor was the lock removed on the chest when opened.
• The shape of the key is the alchemical symbol for brimstone or sulphur, also known as the Leviathan Cross.
