Stars after using the Comet Shard

The Comet Shard is a craftable permanent power-up item that can only be consumed once, and upon consumption, increases the player's maximum mana by 50. There are two other items that function identically to this: the Ethereal Core and the Phantom Heart. Each of these may only be used once and after that the player must use the other items to increase their maximum mana. With all three consumed, the player's maximum mana is capped at 350.

Notes

• If the player attempts to use a second Comet Shard, the custom status message displayed is "You have already used a Comet Shard. Using more would make you nauseous."
