The Brimstone Crate is a Hardmode fishing crate that can only be hooked in lava in the Brimstone Crag. The crate contains several items based originally in the Brimstone Crag and The Underworld. Its Pre-Hardmode counterpart is the Slag Crate.

Notes

• Brimstone Crates drop different tiers of healing and mana potions depending on what bosses have been defeated:
  • Lesser Healing and Lesser Mana Potions are dropped normally.
  • Healing and Mana Potions are dropped if Skeletron has been defeated.
  • Greater Healing and Greater Mana Potions are dropped if any Mechanical Boss has been defeated.
  • Super Healing and Super Mana Potions are dropped if Providence, the Profaned Goddess has been defeated.
  • Supreme Healing and Supreme Mana Potions are dropped if The Devourer of Gods has been defeated.

• 2.0.4.001: Now only caught in Hardmode.

• 2.0.1.003: Fixed it being unobtainable without crate-boosting equipment.

• 2.0.1.001:
  • No longer requires Polterghast to be defeated to drop Bloodstone.
  • Decreased the research requirement from 10 to 5.

• 1.5.0.001:
  • Decreased hook rate by 50%.
  • Now has a 50% chance to drop healing and mana potions instead of 51% for healing potions and 49% for mana potions.
  • Now drops different tiers depending on progression:
    • Lesser Healing and/or Mana potions are dropped normally.
    • Healing and Mana potions are dropped if Skeletron has been defeated.
    • Greater Healing and Mana potions are dropped if any Mechanical boss has been defeated.
    • Super Healing and Mana potions are dropped if Providence has been defeated.
    • Supreme Healing and Mana potions are dropped if The Devourer of Gods has been defeated.
  • Decreased the amount of Obsidian yielded from 3-5 to 2-5.

  • Decreased chance for Hellstone to drop from 100% to 25% and decreased the amount yielded from 5-10 to 2-5.
  • Decreased chance for Hellstone Bars to drop from 20% to 10% and decreased the amount yielded from 3-5 to 1-3.
  • Decreased chance for Unholy Cores to drop from 50% to 10% and decreased the amount yielded from 5-15 to 1-3.
  • Bloodstone no longer drop unless both Providence and Polterghast have been defeated. Decreased chance to drop from 25% to 10% and decreased the amount yielded from 8-10 to 1-3.

• 1.4.5.006: Now has a 100% chance to drop 5-10 Hellstone or Obsidian, and a 20% chance to drop 2-3 Hellstone Bars.

• 1.4.5.001:
  • Fixed chance only being boosted when using Enchanted Pearl, Supreme Bait Tackle Box Fishing Station, and Crate Potion rather than just Enchanted Pearl or Supreme Bait Tackle Box Fishing Station.
  • Fixed Unholy Cores dropping after defeating all three mechanical bosses rather than after Brimstone Elemental.
