The Defiled Feather was a craftable item that when favorited, would prevent Wings from working. It was obtained from opening a Starter Bag or by crafting it at a Demon Altar or Crimson Altar.

Trivia

• This item was a reference to the Defiled Chalice from the game Bloodborne and was originally introduced with similar functions to it.
• The sprite and tooltip were references to the game Celeste. The item's appearance was based on the Feathers from the game.

• 1.5.1.001: Removed.

• 1.5.0.003: Now dropped on all worlds instead of just Expert Mode worlds.

• 1.5.0.001:
  • Renamed from "Defiled Rune" to "Defiled Feather".
  • No longer boosts item drop rates, doubles coin drop rates, or allows enemies to critically hit the player.
  • Now toggled by favoriting and unfavoriting the item.
  • Resprited.

• 1.4.5.006: Can no longer be toggled while any boss is alive. If the player attempts to use it while a boss is alive, a custom status message will be displayed, and nothing will happen.

• 1.4.4.001: Changed the first line in its tooltip to say "Wing flight is disabled" instead of "Wings do nothing".

• 1.4.3.001:
  • No longer affects the drop rate of Legendary Items.
  • No longer affects the drop rate of Honeyed Goggles, Inferno Fork, Rifle Scope, Shadowbeam Staff, Spectre Staff, and Yharim's Crystal.
  • No longer affects the drop rate of Giant Harpy Feather when spawned from statues.
  • No longer allows Armored Skeleton, Hoplite, and Skeleton Archer to drop Bone Sword.
  • Now affects the drop rate of Butcher's Chainsaw, Cascade, Defective Sphere, Harpoon, Lizard Egg, Money Trough, Neptune's Shell, Psycho Knife, Shark Tooth Necklace, Tally Counter, Toxic Flask, and Unholy Trident.
  • Now increases drop chance of Slime Staff from Pinky to 5%.

• 1.4.2.108: Now affects Voodoo Demon's drop rates.

• 1.4.2.107: Can no longer be used during the countdown to The Devourer of Gods' second phase.

• 1.4.2.001: Now allows enemies to critically strike the player.

• 1.4.1.003: Now causes enemies to drop 50% more coins each instead of 100% more.
