The True Bloody Edge was a craftable Hardmode broadsword that autoswings. It was a direct upgrade to the Bloody Edge and could be used to craft the Terra Blade or Terra Edge. On each swing, it fired out a yellow sword projectile that can pierce 2 targets before dissipating on the third. If an enemy was hit by the sword itself, there was a 50% chance for the player to be healed for 1 to 6 hp. Both the sword and the projectile inflicted the Ichor and Burning Blood debuffs for 1 second.

It was an alternative to the vanilla weapon True Night's Edge, having less raw damage but granting Ichor infliction and the ability to recover health.

Its best modifier was Legendary.

  • The True Bloody Edge and its predecessor were implemented based on a community suggestion made by Gouvod on the mod's Terraria Forums post.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.0.003: Now uses 3 Souls of Fright, Souls of Might, Souls of Sight in its recipe instead of a Broken Hero Sword.
  • 1.5.1.001: Buffed damage from 70 to 75, use time from 24 to 20, and gave it a 150% size modifier.
  • 1.5.0.001:
    • Now inflicts Burning Blood for 1 second on hit.
    • Fixed an issue that caused it to incorrectly function during PvP.
  • 1.4.1.001: Nerfed damage from 88 to 70, and blades now set NPC immunity frames to 9 instead of 7.
  • 1.4.0.001:
    • Projectiles now spin and slow down over time.
    • Projectiles now last 5 seconds instead of 10.
  • 1.1.7.901: On-hit effects no longer activate on Target Dummies.
  • 1.1.7.851: Blade projectiles now set NPC immunity frames to 7.
  • 1.1.7.809: Blade projectiles no longer collide with blocks.
  • 1.1.7.51:
    • Buffed damage from 80 to 88, use time from 26 to 23, knockback from 5.75 to 6, and shot speed from 7 to 11.
    • Now has auto use.
