Sounds

Wulfrum Digging Turtles are craftable Pre-Hardmode consumable tools. When used, the player throws a gravity-affected digging turtle which does not deal damage. Upon collision with a tile, it starts to break tiles in its path for up to 5.83 seconds before breaking. Upon breaking, it has a 50% chance to break into a Wulfrum Metal Scrap. The pickaxe power of the digging turtle is equivalent to the highest pickaxe power item the player has in their inventory, up to a maximum of 160. When right-clicked, all existing digging turtles instantly explode.

Tips

  • Wulfrum Digging Turtles can be considered a less expensive and more accurate version of Scarab Bombs, as they have a faster throw speed and lower gravity, letting them reach further.
    • Unlike Scarab Bombs, a thrown digging turtle will not be able to be directed by the player after it is thrown, making it impossible to course-correct a misplaced turtle without blowing it up.
      • The right-click to detonate function only works if the player has a digging turtle left in their inventory. This makes it riskier to throw out your last digging turtle in a stack as you won't be able to use the emergency detonation.
    • They are also easily recyclable because of the 50% chance they will break into scrap metal, making them even less expensive.

Trivia

  • The use of the term "turtle" to refer to an automatic digging robot is a reference to the ComputerCraft mod for the game Minecraft.
