The Cosmic Discharge is a post-Moon Lord flail that is dropped by The Devourer of Gods.

It functions like the Solar Eruption, firing a long spear-like projection from the player's position that quickly retracts. It is capable of striking through walls and generates an explosion on enemy hits for additional damage, as well as granting the player the Cosmic Freeze buff. This buff increases life regeneration while standing still and freezes enemies in a small radius around the player.

Its best modifier is Godly. It cannot get modifiers that affect size. Ruthless might be preferred if the player already has 100% critical strike chance.

Tips

  • This weapon is highly effective for farming the Pumpkin Moon and Frost Moon events after the Devourer of Gods has been defeated.
    • The weapon is effective for crowd control in general due to the powerful explosions it creates on enemy hits, its ability to pierce many enemies, and its ability to grant the player Cosmic Freeze.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.2.001: Increased Nightwither duration from explosions from 3 seconds to 7.
  • 1.5.1.001:
    • Nerfed damage from 500 to 400.
    • Decreased Nightwither and Frostburn durations from from flail and ice bursts from 5 seconds to 3, and Glacial State duration from flail from 2 seconds to 1.
    • Now drops from The Devourer of Gods in all difficulties instead of Malice Mode. Decreased drop rate from 100% Malice Mode to 10%.
    • No longer considered an ice weapon.
  • 1.5.0.001:
    • Nerfed damage from 1000 to 500.
    • The flail projectile now grants enemies 6 local immunity frames instead of 4.
