Vanity in Terraria while not providing any real functionality, acts as a mean of character customization and creative expression. The Calamity Mod adds many new vanity items to the game, as well as several accessories that are able to modify the character's appearence. This guide will show all of these items, as well as go into details on vanity mechanics.

Character

All of the options present during the character creation can be changed later in the game.

A dresser can be used to change the player's character style, clothing color, skin color and eye color.

The Stylist NPC can change the player's hairstyle and hair color for a price, as well as unlocking multiple hairstyles not available during character creation.

The player can change their character's gender by using the Gender Change Potion.

Additionally, the player can change their character's name by selecting the "Rename" button in the Select Player screen.

Dyes

Dyes have their own accessory slot on the player's inventory and are used to apply all sorts of colors to equipped armor, accessories, pets and vanity items. The Calamity Mod adds 30 new types of dyes to the game.

Hair Dyes

Hair Dyes are consumable items sold by the Stylist NPC and are used to change the character's hair color while also giving it a special visual effect. The Calamity Mod adds 4 types of Hair Dyes to the game.

The player can remove their Hair Dye using the Hair Dye Remover.

Armor Sets

Armor is a set of multiple pieces of functional items, mainly used for combat, but may still be used on vanity slots, causing them to lose their effects but still change the character's appearence. The Calamity Mod adds multiple new Armor Sets at all points in the game.

Vanity Sets

Similarly to Armor Sets, vanity sets are composed of multiple pieces of items that can be equipped on the player's armor slot, however they do not have any functionality and exist purely for vanity. The Calamity Mod adds 4 vanity sets to the game.

Vanity Pieces

These are items that lack a full set, but can be placed on the player's armor slot.

Vanity Accessories

The Calamity Mod adds multiple accessories that exist solely for vanity, as well as many functional accessories that can modify the character's appearence in some way. This guide will divide all of these accessories in multiple categories, and it should be noted only one accessory from each category can be visible at a time. If multiple accessories from the same category are equiped, the accessory from the lowest slot will take priority.

The player can click the "Visible" and "Hidden" buttons from their accessory menu to avoid showing any equipped items on Accessory slots, but doing so will not hide items in Social Accessory slots.
