Dodge
Dodging is an ability which causes the player to take no damage or receive any debuffs when hit by an attack. Unlike ram dashes, dodges will also ignore projectile damage, instead of only contact damage. Most dodges are passive abilities, meaning that no input is required for them to activate. The player will be granted 80 additional immunity frames after dodging an attack.
The Calamity Mod reworks vanilla's dodge system and adds various accessories that allow the player to dodge.
Vanilla changes
Most accessories with dodge effects are no longer random, but instead have a cooldown which is shared with all other dodges and reflects. Dodges no longer trigger if an attack deals less than 5% of the player's maximum health, and now have a varying cooldown based on how much damage was dodged, ranging from 15 seconds at 5% maximum health to 90 seconds at 50% maximum health.
- The vanilla accessories affected by this are the Brain of Confusion, Black Belt, and Master Ninja Gear.
Additionally, the Hallowed armor's Holy Protection buff duration is reduced from 30 seconds to 6 seconds.
