- Revamped the biome:
- The biome is much longer and has more vertical space.
- It now always generates on the same side as the Abyss.
- In the middle of the biome, a long broken bridge goes over a lake of Lava. Two Ashen Chests are located under the bridge.
- Four house ruins are located across the crags.
- Giant Spine Trees grow on Brimstone Slag, and tall Cinder Blossom Plants on Scorched Remains grass.
- Changed its lava color.
- Revamped the biome:
- 2.0.1.001:
- Gave it a different map background.
- Fixed Lavafall sprite colors in the biome.
- 1.5.0.001: Lava now has a pink-red color.
- 1.4.3.002: The houses now contain Ancient furniture instead of Obsidian furniture.
- 1.4.3.001: Brimstone geysers can now erupt from lava blocks in Death Mode.
- 1.4.2.107: Fixed Lava not being able to stack damage on the player.
- 1.3.4.101: Fixed a bug where one of the Chests contained a Silver Bullet instead of a Dark Lance.

- Houses now have natural Obsidian Brick Walls instead of safe ones.

- 1.1.7.5: Now requires 100 Brimstone Slag or Charred Ore tiles to count as the biome instead of 150.
