The term "vanilla" refers to the original game of Terraria, and may also be used to refer to any content or features that originate from Terraria, as opposed to the Calamity Mod.
The Calamity Mod inherently modifies the game by adding new content, meaning that playing Terraria with the Calamity Mod cannot be defined as playing the "vanilla" game. However, any content that originates from the original game may still be referred to as "vanilla" content, even while playing the modified game. For instance, the Eye of Cthulhu is a vanilla boss, and the Terra Blade is a vanilla weapon, but Calamitas Clone is not a vanilla boss.
