The Tongue is a debuff inflicted by the Wall of Flesh when one of the following happens:

• The player gets stuck behind the Wall of Flesh.
• The player attempts to leave The Underworld when the Wall is alive. (The player dies instantly if using a Magic Mirror or Recall Potion to escape The Underworld.)

When afflicted with this debuff, the Wall draws in the player with a tendril at a speed of 56 MPH, ignoring blocks in the way, and deals severe damage to the player.
