The 2.0.1.001 (or 2.0.1.1) update reworked several early-game item sets, including Wulfrum, Desert Prowler, and Marnite, as well as overhauled how Calamity difficulties are toggled, and removed Malice Mode from the game. Additionally, this update added several Donor items and Pylons.

This update also rebalanced several boss AIs and ported the mod to tModLoader v2022.7.58.

Additions

  • Added Acidwood Wall and Floral Wall.
  • Added Ares' Exoskeleton, Crackshot Colt, Death's Ascension, Dynamic Pursuer, Grave Grimreaver, Hadal Urn, Midas Prime and The Sevens Striker.
  • Added Astral Pylon, Cragmaw Mire Trophy, Crags Pylon, Giant Clam Trophy, Great Sand Shark Trophy, Mauler Trophy, Nuclear Terror Trophy, Sulphur Pylon, Sunken Pylon, and Wulfrum Lure.
  • Added Marnite Architect Headgear and Marnite Architect Toga.
  • Added Marnite Deconstructor, Wulfrum Digging Turtle, Wulfrum Scaffold Kit, and Wulfrum Treasure Pinger.
  • Added Marnite Repulsion Shield, Quiver of Nihility and Wulfrum Acrobatics Pack.
  • Added Old Hunter Hat, Old Hunter Pants, and Old Hunter Shirt.

  • Added three custom map backgrounds for the Abyss layers.
  • Added the "Default Player Stat Boosts" group of configuration options, which includes Faster Base Speed, Higher Jump Height, Faster Jump Speed, Faster Fall Hotkey, and Faster Tile Placement .
  • Added a chat message that is displayed when joining a world that advertises the Official Calamity Mod Wiki.
    • Added the Wiki Status Message configuration option that allows the player to enable or disable the Official Calamity Mod Wiki advertisement.

Changes

Bosses and Mini Bosses

This section is incomplete and may not contain all of the Boss and Mini Boss AI changes that were made for this update.
  • Boss servants now drop Hearts on Revengeance Mode and Death Mode.
  • Boss Effects no longer prohibits the use of Ice Mirror/Magic Mirror or any of its upgrades, and Teleporters.

Astrum Aureus

  • Removed the stat buff that it and its Aureus Spawns received after defeating Moon Lord.

Brimstone Elemental

  • Removed the stat buff that she received after defeating Providence, the Profaned Goddess.
  • Brimlings now idle near Brimstone Elemental and mimic her attacks instead of idling in place and firing projectiles.

Calamitas

  • Removed the stat buff that she received after defeating Providence, the Profaned Goddess.
  • Infinite dash during her final phase is now exclusive to Death Mode.

Crabulon

  • Decreased delay before attacking the player when it is first spawned in on all modes.
  • Now fires its Mushroom projectiles directly from its mouth on all modes. Additionally, Mushroom projectiles now spawn less dust to improve visibility.

Desert Scourge

  • Desert Nuisances now have a map icon.

The Devourer of Gods

  • Removed several dialog options, this includes:
    • "Good luck recovering from that!"
    • "Nothing personal, kid."
    • "Are you honestly that bad at dodging?"
    • "Of all my segments to get hit by..."
    • Additionally, removed instances of "kid" from his dialog.

Eater of Worlds

  • Decreased the velocity of Cursed Fireball projectiles by 41.67% in Revengeance and Death Modes. Cursed Fireball velocities are now doubled while enraged.
  • Significantly increased the brightness of Vile Spit projectiles in all modes.

Empress of Light

  • Now only performs 2 Sun Dances in phase 2 in Revengeance Mode and higher.

Exo Mechs

  • Ares now takes 90% damage from Seraphim's lasers and 80% damage from Eclipse's Fall's main projectile.
  • Artemis and Apollo now take 90% damage from Seared Pan.
  • Thanatos now has a damage resistance to the following items:
    • 85% damage from Plasma Grenade.
    • 80% damage from The Final Dawn's lunge attack and 85% damage from its lingering flames.
    • 80% damage from Utensil Poker.
    • 70% damage from Eclipse's Fall's main projectile.
    • 50% damage from Tarragon Throwing Dart's stealth strike projectiles.
    • Additionally, it now takes 10% damage from Seraphim's lasers instead of 5%.

The Hive Mind

  • Reduced Dark Heart shaderain delay from 0.5 seconds to 0.4.

Jungle Dragon, Yharon

  • Replaced sound effects with brand new ones.

King Slime

  • Increased Crown Jewel bolt projectile velocity by 11.11%, and significantly increased the brightness of the Crown Jewel on all modes.
  • Can now jump through tiles, and will now attempt to teleport in front of the player in Revengeance Mode.
  • Increased the chance for King Slime to spawn Pinky as it takes damage on Revengeance and Death Mode from 0.4% to 1%.

Leviathan and Anahita

  • Nerfed Aquatic Aberration's health from 800 / 1600 Режим Эксперта / 2400 Режим Мастера to 600 / 1200 Режим Эксперта / 1800 Режим Мастера.

Martian Saucer

Queen Bee

  • Now uses her vanilla Stinger projectiles in Revengeance and Death Mode.
  • Increased visibility of Stinger projectiles in all modes.

Queen Slime

  • Can now jump through tiles, and will now attempt to teleport in front of the player in Revengeance Mode.
  • Significantly increased the visibility of her boss summons in all modes.

Skeletron Prime

  • No longer flings its Laser and Cannon arms at the player, and no longer fires a barrage of Rockets or a ring of Laser projectiles from its head while all of its arms are destroyed in Revengeance and Death Mode.
  • Now enters its spin phase after 1.5 seconds instead of 5 in Revengeance and Death Mode.

The Slime God

  • Removed the "Core phase" and made the Core invulnerable to all damage. When both the Crimulan and Ebonian Slime Gods have been defeated, the core will explode after a short delay, dropping its loot.

Balance

  • Decreased the Defense damage global ratio from 15% to 10%.
  • Dragonfire now deals 180 damage per second to enemies, and causes players to lose 18 health per second.
  • Nerfed the maximum fall speed of the Gelatinous Pillion mount by 6.5% and the Slimy Saddle mount by 9%.
  • Irradiated no longer grants positive bonuses to the player or decreases the player's movement speed, and instead now causes the player to lose 4 life regeneration.
  • Nerfed the Squishy Bean mount maximum fall and jump speeds by 25%.
  • Rogue Stealth no longer increases player movement speed.

Armor and Accessories

  • The Amalgam buff duration effect now affects Plenty Satisfied, Exquisitely Stuffed, and Lucky.
  • Nerfed Arcane Flower and Magnet Flower's mana cost reduction from 20% to 12%.
  • Nerfed the Chlorophyte armor set bonus:
    • Increased the Life Pulse delay from 3 seconds to 5.
    • Increased the heal delay from 2.5 seconds to 4.5.
    • Additionally, removed the Life Pulse sound effect, and the pulse is now only fired if the player is within 35 blocks of an enemy or if the player does not have full health.
  • Corrosive Spine projectiles now inflict Poisoned instead of Acid Venom.
  • Nerfed Electrician's Glove spark projectile base damage from 20 to 15.
  • Increased God Slayer armor's set bonus dash cooldown from 35 seconds to 45.
  • Increased Ink Bomb's cooldown from 20 seconds to 25.
  • Nerfed Soaring Insignia's flight time boost from 50% to 25%.

Weapons

  • Split Melee into four classes internally: Melee, Melee No Speed, True Melee, and True Melee No Speed:
    • Melee and Melee No Speed damage types are identical with the exception that Melee No Speed does not receive the effects of the melee swing speed stat.
      • Most Boomerangs, Flails, Yoyos, and a few other melee weapons use the Melee No Speed damage type.
    • True Melee is a new damage subclass of Melee which also benefits from True Melee-specific damage bonuses. True Melee No Speed is identical to True Melee except that it does not receive the effects of the melee swing speed stat.
      • Weapons that are a part of the new True Melee damage type will mention so in their tooltips.
  • Removed the bonus damage that Flails, Spears, Yoyos, and melee weapons that use a holdout projectile would inherit from melee speed.
  • The following melee weapons only receive 33% of melee swing speed bonuses:
    • Brimstone Sword, Cosmic Shiv, Devastation, Devil's Devastation, Elemental Shiv, Galactus Blade, Galileo Gladius, Lucrecia, North Pole, Star Wrath, Swordsplosion, and Tenebreus Tides.
  • The following vanilla melee weapons now fully benefit from melee swing speed as intended:
    • Beam Sword, Chlorophyte Claymore, Chlorophyte Partisan, Chlorophyte Saber, Christmas Tree Sword, Death Sickle, Enchanted Sword, Flying Dragon, Frostbrand, Ice Blade, Ice Sickle, Influx Waver, Meowmere, Seedler, Storm Spear, Terra Blade, True Excalibur, and True Night's Edge.
  • Gave the following items auto use:
    • Deadly Sphere Staff, Desert Tiger Staff, Gladius, Icebreaker, Pygmy Staff, Raven Staff, Stardust Cell Staff, Tempest Staff, Terraprisma, Xeno Staff, and the Tavernkeep sentries.
  • The following vanilla items now benefit from true melee bonuses:
    • Copper Shortsword, Gladius, Gold Shortsword, Iron Shortsword, Lead Shortsword, Platinum Shortsword, Ruler, Silver Shortsword, Starlight, Tin Shortsword, and Tungsten Shortsword.
  • Removed the hidden acceleration and run speed penalty on Abyssal Diving Suit, Flame-Licked Shell, Ursa Sergeant, and the Elysian Guard buff.
  • Adamantite Throwing Axe now pierces 5 times instead of infinitely.
  • Nerfed Aquatic Discharge's use time from 12 to 18.
  • Rebalanced Archerfish, nerfed damage from 18 to 9, but buffed use time from 18 to 11.
  • Nerfed Ark of the Cosmos' damage from 2000 to 1300.
  • Rebalanced Ataraxia, nerfed damage from 710 to 455, but increased the Main and Side Rocket projectile's extraUpdates from 2 to 3.
  • Nerfed Cnidarian's damage from 11 to 8 and spark damage from 75% base damage to 50%. However, its range is now affected by Whip range modifiers.
  • Buffed Coral Spout's damage from 7 to 8, increased the amount of mana replenished from the coral chunk from 100 to 150, and maximum damage modifier when charged up from 3x to 6x. Additionally, when picking up a coral chunk, the player is now granted the Coral Symbiosis buff, which increases the damage of Coral Spout projectiles and causes it to charge up 1.25x as fast.
  • Buffed Desert Tiger Staff's damage from 41 to 49.
  • Nerfed Dragon's Breath's right-click fire rate from 125% to 80%.
  • The following items now inflict Dragonfire instead of their previous debuffs:
    • Blissful Bombardier dusts, The Burning Sky, Dragon Rage, Dragon's Breath, Drataliornus dusts, Phoenix Flame Barrage, The Final Dawn, Wrathwing, and Yharim's Gift meteors.
  • Rebalanced Elemental Shiv, buffed damage from 168 to 190 but reduced the blade projectile's effective velocity from 14 to 4.8 and decreased the time the main projectile exists for by 50% and the secondary projectiles by 85%.
  • Buffed Elf Melter's damage from 90 to 113, and effective velocity from 25.5 to 46. Flame projectiles now grant enemies 6 ID-static immunity frames and have 3 extraUpdates instead of 2.
  • Buffed Fishbone Boomerang's damage from 24 to 27.
  • Rebalanced Flamethrower, nerfed effective velocity from 42 to 40. Flame projectiles now grant enemies 6 ID-static immunity frames and have 1 more extraUpdate.
  • Buffed Galileo Gladius' effective velocity from 28 to 48.
  • Glorious End projectiles no longer deal 50% less damage in Expert Mode or above.
  • Rebalanced Handgun, buffed damage from 12 to 36 but nerfed use time from 15 to 27.
  • High Velocity Bullets and Icy Bullets now grant enemies -1 immunity frames on hit.
    • Additionally, High Velocity Bullets can now benefit from Point Blank damage.
  • Nerfed Lucrecia's projectile velocity from 32 to 24.
  • Nerfed Malachite's damage from 120 to 55, use time from 10 to 14, and reduced stealth strike damage modifier from 200% to 130%.
  • Nerfed Meowmere's damage from 266 to 200.
  • Orichalcum Spiked Gemstone stealth strikes now pierce 4 times instead of infinitely, and normal projectiles now pierce 5 times instead of 6.
  • Buffed Pew-matic Horn's damage from 20 to 23.
  • Rebalanced Phoenix Blaster, buffed damage from 18 to 36 but nerfed use time from 14 to 27.
  • Nerfed Pumpler's damage from 27 to 18 and projectiles now grant enemies 20 local immunity frames.
  • Nerfed Reed Blowgun's damage from 19 to 14.
  • Nerfed Redtide Spear's damage from 33 to 25, however it now grants the player immunity to knockback while charging.
  • All Calamity shortswords can now be used in any direction.
  • Nerfed Staff of the Mechworm's damage from 161 to 118 and the Mechworm segments now grant enemies 30 local immunity frames instead of 10.
  • Nerfed Terraprisma's damage from 90 to 60 and it now grants enemies 30 local immunity frames instead of 15.
  • Tarragon Throwing Dart's stealth strike thorn projectiles now pierce 5 times instead of infinitely.
  • Buffed Urchin Mace's damage from 20 to 23.
  • Buffed Valor's damage from 22 to 32.

Drops

  • Vanilla Terraria Master Mode items can now drop in Revengeance and Death Modes regardless if the player is in an Expert or Master Mode world.
  • Adjusted several boss material drops:
    • Brimstone Elemental and Calamitas no longer drop Bloodstone.
    • Calamitas now drops 5-10 Essence of Chaos instead of 4-8, and 25-30 Ashes of Calamity instead of 9-14.

Reworks

  • Reworked Abandoned Wulfrum Helmet, it no longer grants any bonuses when equipped. Instead, it now functions as a vanity accessory that, while equipped, transforms the player into a Wulfrum Robot. Additionally, it can also be worn in the head slot, which will not cause the player to transform. It is no longer considered a part of the Wulfrum armor set.
  • Reworked Desert Prowler armor set bonus, it no longer causes ranged damage critical hits to occasionally summon a sandstorm. It now grants the player the ability to shroud themselves in a sand cloud. While the sand cloud is active, the player's movement speed is increased by 150%, and dealing damage to enemies will decrease the duration of the sand cloud by 1.5 seconds. Dealing damage within a second of activating the sand cloud will cause your next ranged weapon to automatically critically hit, and have a critical strike damage modifier of 200%. The sand cloak has a base duration of 5 seconds, and has a cooldown of 20 seconds.
  • Overhauled the Difficulty Indicator, it now serves as the only way to enable Revengeance Mode and Death Mode on a world. The Difficulty Indicator will glow until it is pressed the first time. When pressed, the indicator will create a dropdown menu with three options between the world's vanilla difficulty, Revengeance Mode, and Death Mode. Each option will have a corresponding icon, which can be hovered over with the mouse cursor for more information. Additionally, holding down the ⇧ Left Shift key will expand the descriptions even further. Additionally, there is a fourth option, indicated with the now removed Malice Mode icon, that explains that Malice Mode was removed from the game. Selecting one of the three primary options will apply the difficulty and close the menu. The menu can also be closed by closing the inventory screen. Enabling or disabling Revengeance Mode and Death Mode is prohibited while a boss is alive or if the world is on Classic Mode.
  • Reworked Exoblade, it no longer fires an exo beam and summons exo comets to protect the player. It now has a custom swing animation, and when swung, it now fires out three exo energy beams that home onto enemies after a short duration. When an exo energy beam damages a target, it will summon two additional light beams that slash the enemy once. It also now has a right-click function that causes the player to quickly lunge forward and fly through the air. The weapon does 175% more damage while lunging. Colliding with an enemy while lunging will cause the lunge to prematurely end, powering up the weapon, which causes its next swing to increase the sword size by 230%, and if the sword damages an enemy, it will create a power explosion that deals damage to nearby enemies. Nerfed damage from 900 to 640. It now uses the Melee No Speed damage type and the sword itself no longer inflicts any debuffs. However, its projectiles still inflict Exo Freeze, Frostburn, Holy Flames, and On Fire!.
  • Reworked Marnite Obliterator, it no longer functions as a hybrid axe and drill. It now functions akin to Laser Drill, casting a diamond beam that destroys blocks at the mouse cursor. It now has a bonus +7 tile range. Nerfed damage from 11 to 7.
  • Reworked Momentum Capacitor, it is no longer an accessory that consumes stealth when pressing Momentum Capacitor Effect to generate a magnetic field that amplifies Rogue projectile velocities. Instead, it now rapidly increases the player's movement speed, bypassing all speed caps, so long as it is being left-clicked by the player.
  • Reworked Rover Drive, it no longer periodically generates an energy shield around the player that increases their defense by 15 for 10 seconds. It now generates a protective matrix that absorbs 50 damage and increases the player's defense by 10. The protective matrix lasts indefinitely unless it is un-equipped or until the matrix is broken by damage. The protective matrix has a 10 second cooldown, but taking direct damage while the matrix is on cooldown will reset the cooldown to 10 seconds. Additionally, it can now be used in the Extractinator.
  • Reworked Wulfrum armor:
    • Wulfrum Jacket now grants the player 5% damage reduction when worn instead of 3% increased critical strike chance.
    • Set bonus no longer grants various effects when equipped with different Wulfrum head pieces. It now always grants +1 minion slot and allows the player to transform into a Wulfrum Bastion if the player presses ▼ Вниз twice and there is at least 1 Wulfrum Metal Scrap in the player's inventory. When transformed, the player cannot swap armor, accessories, or use any other items except a Grapple Hook and any buff potions in the player's inventory with a keybind. During the transformation, the player can only fire a prosthetic fusion cannon that shoots pellet projectiles in a burst of three. The Wulfrum Bastion transformation also grants the player an additional 13 defense, but they are slowed by 20%. After the transformation has ended, it will go on cooldown for 20 seconds. The transformation has a base duration of 30 seconds, but if the player takes damage during it, the duration will be slightly decreased.
  • Reworked Wulfrum Battery, in addition to increasing summon damage by 7%, it now causes all minions summoned to emit light, and adds a 50% chance for wulfrum enemies to drop an extra Wulfrum Metal Scrap when killed. Additionally, it can now be used in the Extractinator.
  • Reworked Wulfrum Blunderbuss, it no longer functions like a bow and now functions as a gun that uses Wulfrum Metal Scraps or Silver Coins as ammunition. When used, it will consume one Wulfrum Metal Scrap or Silver Coin and gain 30 charges. Each time the blunderbuss is fired, it consumes one charge. When fired, it shoots a large spread of bullets; the bullet spread can be tightened by moving the cursor further away from the player, however, the damage of each shot will be decreased by up to 25% depending on the distance away the cursor is from the player. Nerfed damage from 12 to 8, use time from 25 to 55, and removed its auto use.
  • Reworked Wulfrum Controller, the Wulfrum Droid minion now recoils after firing its green projectile at enemies, and can no longer fire at enemies through walls. Additionally, it now has a right-click function that causes it to become supercharged. While supercharged, any Wulfrum Droids active return to the player and fire a beam at them, increasing the player's defense and life regeneration by 3. This bonus is additive with each Wulfrum Droid active. Buffed damage from 10 to 16.
  • Reworked Wulfrum Drill, it now functions like a drill instead of a pickaxe. Decreased pickaxe power from 40% to 35%.
  • Reworked Wulfrum Knife, it now throws out knives in a burst of three when used. The second and third knives spread out slightly as they travel. Stealth strike now causes each knife to damage an enemy twice, for a total of six hits if all of the knives hit an enemy. It now also has a right-click function that pulls Wulfrum Knives that are not broken on hit back towards the player.
  • Reworked Wulfrum Prosthesis, it no longer functions as a wand that casts a slow green bolt towards enemies. It now replaces the player's arm with a prosthetic that fires out a fast moving homing wulfrum bolt that damages enemies and does not pierce. It now also has a right-click function that drains a nearby enemy of their energy, replenishing the player's mana at a rate of 35/s.
  • Reworked Wulfrum Screwdriver, it no longer functions as a broadsword. It now functions as a shortsword, causing the player to stab in the general direction of their cursor with a screwdriver. Each time an enemy is damaged with the screwdriver, there is a 20% chance that a wulfrum screw will become available above the player's head, which is also indicated by a sound cue. Using right-click with a screw available will cause the player to throw out the screw in the direction the player is looking, damaging an enemy before breaking. If the player hits the screw mid-air with the screwdriver, it will be launched in the direction of the player's cursor, causing the screw to deal 7x damage. Only one screw can be available at a time. Additionally, damaging an enemy with the Screwdriver will reset its animation, making repeated hits come out quicker. Nerfed damage from 12 to 9.
