Seeds are used to grow trees, grass, and herbs that can provide the player with crafting materials for mostly potions, or in the case of grass, for the creation or expansion of biomes. Most seed types have specific conditions they require in order to sprout. Seeds are planted in specific soils, and can also be planted in Clay Pots or in any Planter Box. To plant a seed, select it in the hotbar and press ⚒ Использовать / Атаковать above the planting location.

The Calamity Mod introduces 2 new types of grass seeds and 1 new type of tree seeds.
