Sounds

Verium Bolts are craftable Hardmode arrows. When hitting enemies, it marks them, causing the enemy to emit star particles for 1.5 seconds before exploding, dealing additional flat damage. The explosion damage can be increased if additional Verium Bolts hit the target within the 1.5 second window. Only one mark can be active on any enemy at a time.

Notes

  • The extra damage inflicted has a base damage of 115, which increases by 15 for each additional Verium Bolt that hits the enemy.

Trivia

  • The ammo's extra damage effect is a reference to the Doom status curse from the game Hades.
    • The extra damage effect is referred to internally as "Verium Doom".
    • Its flavor tooltip is also a reference to Hades.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Renamed from "Verium Bullet" to "Verium Bolt".
    • Reworked:
      • Nerfed damage from 8 to 7.
      • No longer a bullet that pierces once and homes in after piercing.
      • Now an arrow that marks enemies on hit with sparkle effects. After 1.5 seconds, the enemy receives extra flat damage.
      • The flat damage dealt scales with how many Verium Bolts hit the enemy during the 1.5 second period.
    • Now uses 100 Wooden Arrows in its recipe instead of 100 Musket Balls.
    • Resprited.
  • 1.5.1.001:
    • Now uses the Rarity Level: 5 rarity instead of Rarity Level: 3.
    • Decreased sell price from 1 Silver Coin to 12 Copper Coin.
  • 1.5.0.001: Fixed it being able to target friendly NPCs.
