Explosion
The Penumbra is a craftable post-Moon Lord rogue bomb. When used, it throws a shadow bomb that charges in the direction of the player's cursor and explodes into homing souls. The shadow bombs inflict the Daybroken and Nightwither debuffs for 3 seconds.
Performing a stealth strike with the Penumbra will cause a shadow bomb to appear at the location of the cursor which deals 85% damage, quickly exploding into many homing souls.
Its best modifier is Flawless.

Trivia
- The Penumbra could be considered a counterpart to the Hypothermia due to their similar recipes.
- The penumbra is the lighter region of a shadow cast by an object.
History

- 2.0.4.001:
- Souls now home towards the closest enemy instead of the earliest enemy in the NPC array.
- Bombs now spawn dust less frequently, and changed the color of its dusts from purple to black.
- Increased sell price from 28 to 40 .
- 2.0.3.006:
- Stealth strikes now have an 85% damage modifier.
- Bombs now last 4.16 seconds instead of 5, and inflict Daybroken and Nightwither for 3 seconds instead of 4.
- 2.0.3.005:
- Nerfed damage from 1008 to 830, but buffed shot speed from 8 to 9.
- Bombs now last 5 seconds instead of 2.5, and now inflict Daybroken and Nightwither for 4 seconds on hit.
