The Norfleet is a post-Moon Lord ranged weapon that is dropped by The Devourer of Gods. When used, it fires 3 purple energy spheres in a tight spread, which go through tiles and explode violently on impact with an enemy. Spheres deal 33.33% damage and explosions deal 16.67% damage which decrease by 3.33% for each subsequent hits. Each sphere inflicts a different debuff depending on the color in its center: Daybroken for the red sphere, Plague for the green sphere, and Electrified for the blue sphere. Every 3 shots, the weapon will recharge for 4 seconds with a unique animation and sound effect, during which the player cannot fire the weapon nor switch to any other item.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

Notes

  • Unlike many weapons, this weapon fires when the appropriate key is released instead of pressed. Holding down the key without releasing it will result in the weapon only being held out.
  • The weapon's limit of 3 shots per reload can be bypassed by swapping to a different Norfleet item. However, attempting to fire more than 3 shots in a row without reloading causes a unique sound to play, along with the shots becoming hostile and turning around to home in on the player. These shots deal the same damage as the weapon, usually killing the player instantly.
    • Dying in this method gives a unique death message.
    • If the player somehow survives the initial hit, they will be inflicted with Miracle Blight and Vulnerability Hex for 15 seconds, along with having their health constantly drained. In addition, the player will be unable to swap off of the Norfleet.

Trivia

The Norfleet's energy sphere projectiles and explosions, followed by its reloading.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.4.002: Fixed an exploit allowing it to be used more than the intended 3 times in a row by swapping between separate Norfleet items.
  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Reworked:
      • Buffed damage from 354 to 7077, and use time from 75 to 70.
      • No longer fires bursts of star projectiles which are fired more often the longer the weapon is fired, and no longer consumes ammo.
      • Now fires bursts of 3 erratic energy spheres. Each energy sphere explodes on hit and inflicts a different debuff: Daybroken, Electrified, or Plague.
      • Every 3 shots, the weapon must charge up energy for 4 seconds before being able to fire again.
    • Now considered a specialist weapon.
    • Increased sell price from 28 Gold Coin to 40 Gold Coin.
  • 1.5.1.001:
    • Nerfed damage from 442 to 354.
    • Now drops from The Devourer of Gods in all difficulties instead of Malice Mode. Decreased drop rate from 100% Malice Mode to 10%.
  • 1.5.0.001:
    • Nerfed damage from 1000 to 442.
    • Now drops from The Devourer of Gods in Malice Mode instead of all difficulties. Increased drop rate from 2.5% to 100% Malice Mode.
    • Now has a custom - Challenge Item - (#FF8C00 ●) tag instead of using the Rarity level: Rare Variant rarity.
  • 1.4.5.004: Fixed a visual issue that caused the player to incorrectly hold it out.
  • 1.4.5.003: Fixed a visual error that caused the player to hold it out incorrectly.
  • 1.4.2.105: Fixed it playing comet explosion sounds in the wrong place.
