Hyperius Bullet

Hyperius Bullets are craftable Hardmode bullets. When they hit an enemy, they split into 3 bullets that swirl outwards from the point of impact before dissipating. The split bullets pierce once and deal 10% of the bullet's damage along with an extra 16 flat damage. Enemy hits with the split bullets make them travel forwards while tile hits make them travel backwards. The bullets and spilt bullets are randomly given solid colors on spawn. The main bullets emit a spiral light effect but will lose the effect after travelling a certain distance.

Trivia

  • The name of this bullet is most likely a reference to the boss enemy in Borderlands 2, named Hyperius the Invincible. The effect of the bullet is also a reference to the Conference Call weapon, found in Borderlands 2. Both Hyperius and the Conference Call are affiliated with the manufacturer Hyperion.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.4.003:
    • Split bullets now deal 10% base damage instead of 15%, but now deal 16 extra flat damage instead of 10.
    • Fixed split bullets dealing much more damage when spawned from tile collisions than from enemy collisions.
  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Reworked:
      • Nerfed damage from 18 to 13, but it now has 7 extra updates instead of 3. Bullets are now randomly given solid colors on spawn instead of constantly cycling through rainbow colors.
      • No longer spawns an additional bullet in a random nearby position and direction on hit.
      • Now splits into 3 bullets on hit that swirl outwards from the point of impact and deal 15% base damage with an extra 10 flat damage. Enemy hits make the extra bullets travel forwards, while tile hits make them travel backwards.
    • Added new particle visuals.
    • Now uses the Rarity Level: 8 rarity instead of Rarity Level: 9.
  • 1.5.1.001:
    • Buffed velocity multiplier from 2x to 4x.
    • Decreased sell price from 4 Silver Coin to 16 Copper Coin.

    • Nerfed damage from 21 to 18.
