The Giant Shell is a Pre-Hardmode accessory that is dropped by Giant Shellies in the Cavern layer and sold by the Skeleton Merchant for 12 . When equipped, it provides 6 defense, but reduces dash velocity by 10%. Getting hit removes the dash penalty and reduces the player's defense by 3 for 5 seconds.
