The Deep Wounder is a Hardmode non-consumable rogue weapon that is sold by the Bandit for 48 Gold Coin after Calamitas Clone has been defeated. When used, it throws a fast-spinning hatchet that pierces twice and inflicts the Armor Crunch and Crush Depth debuffs.

Performing a stealth strike with the Deep Wounder will cause the next hatchet to deal 210% damage, travel at a much higher velocity and leave a trail of water behind it, inflicting Marked for Death in addition to the other debuffs that it inflicts. The water projectiles deal 5% damage and are unaffected by any damage bonuses.

Its best modifier is Flawless.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Nerfed stealth strike damage modifier from 300% to 210%.
    • Main projectile now pierces twice instead of infinitely, and water projectiles now deal 5% base damage instead of 10%.
  • 2.0.2.001:
    • Buffed damage from 106 to 136.
    • All projectiles now grant 20 local immunity frames and water projectiles now deal 10% base damage instead of dealing 20 damage.
    • Now inflicts Marked for Death on stealth strikes instead of Crush Depth and inflicts Crush Depth with regular hits.
    • Decreased buy price from 60 Gold Coin to 48 Gold Coin.
    • Decreased sell price from 12 Gold Coin to 9 Gold Coin.png 60 Silver Coin.png.
