Behavior
The Storm Weaver is an aerial worm-like enemy with 31 / 41 / 51 / 61 segments in total. It actively chases the player throughout the battle and does not enrage, even if the player leaves the Space layer. When spawned, the Storm Weaver will causes the rain to occur.
Attacks
Phase 1
- The body and head are nearly immune to all damage; the only way to deal significant damage is to hit its tail, which has 0 defense, glows, makes a different hit sound from other segments, and its damage taken is multiplied by 2.
- Fires a even barrage of 10 Electric Lasers from its body segments and summons a Lightning Orb from its tail segment every 5 seconds.
Phase 2
- Transitions to Phase 2 when below 80% health.
- Sheds its armor, causing the entire body to be vulnerable.
- Increased overall speed and acceleration by 20%.
- Every 6.67 / 6 / 5.67 / 5.33 seconds, its color shifts to a dark blue color and quickly charges at the player, summoning three bolts of lightning from the sky in the process. Its color shifts back to normal after performing the attack.
Phase 3
- Transitions into Phase 3 when below 65% health.
- Causes a blizzard to occur in addition to the rain.
- Charges half as frequently for the remainder of the battle.
- During 25% of its charge downtime, it summons an even row of 23 / 25 fast and harmless frost clouds. After half a second has passed, Frost Waves rain down in the positions of the frost clouds.
Phase 4
- Transitions into Phase 4 when below 50% health.
- Causes a thunderstorm to occur in addition to the rain and blizzard.
- Summons two additional Frost Waves with 7% less spacing.
- Replaces every other Frost Mist attack with 3 / 5 / 7 even columns of tornadoes. Tornadoes last for 20 seconds before disappearing.
In Expert Mode
- Segments are increased from 31 to 41 and size increased by 10%.

- On top of this, all segments take:
- 75% damage from the Molten Amputator's globs.
- 50% damage from the Pristine Fury, Elemental Axe and Dazzling Stabber Staff, Tactician's Trump Card explosion, and true melee hits.
- 20% damage from the Alpha Virus.
Tips
- For more elaborate strategies on defeating Storm Weaver, including weapon and arena recommendations, see Guide:Storm Weaver strategies.
- Stay on the ground and don't panic if you're almost dead. Panicking will often lead to you trying to outrun the Weaver, which is not possible.
- Mobility is the key to this battle. Although it's hard to outrun the Weaver, using dash abilities or the Rod of Discord or Normality Relocator can save you from the massive damage caused by its head.
- Gravity Normalizer Potions can be used to counteract the low gravity in Space allowing easier maneuverability.
- For the first form use piercing weapons and weapons with a large blast radius, as these can help hit the tail of the Weaver. You can easily out-maneuver the first phase with Seraph Tracers by circling around the Storm Weaver while being in space. This method also helps dodge the Weaver's summons and fired laser beams.
- The orbs that Storm Weaver fires do not deal contact damage, only the lightning bolts themselves.
- Homing weapons are recommended for Phase 1 as they can easily hit the tail.
- The Elemental Shiv is recommended for this fight due to the homing capabilities and the amount of projectiles it produces.
- The Telluric Glare does good damage to Phase 2 with its piercing and ignoring immunity frames.
- Nuclear Fury is an excellent choice with homing capabilities allowing it to easily hit the tail in Phase 1 and swarm weaver with typhoons in Phase 2.
- The Shattered Sun does good in Phase 1 as it homes in on the tail, but Molten Amputators excel in Phase 2.
- Elemental Axes are an excellent choice quickly dispatching the Storm Weaver.
- While the Storm Weaver can be fought before any other post-Moon Lord boss, it is recommended to fight it after Providence is defeated, as its fast speed and high damage can make the fight very challenging.
Trivia
- The Bestiary entry for the Storm Weaver: "An invasive pest from another dimension crowned by many as king of the skies, soaring across the upper atmosphere at near unmatched speed. Unlike the other beings from the Distortion, the Storm Weaver lacks higher purpose, feasting upon the remnants of the civilization that once dwelled in the skies."
- Storm Weaver's theme is a segment from Servants of the Scourge, which was composed by the artist DM DOKURO.
- This theme contains a motif from The Devourer of Gods' theme.
- If the Calamity Music add-on mod is disabled, Boss 3 will play instead.
- According to the lore, The Devourer of Gods is the same species as the Storm Weaver, meaning that it likely has the same type of flesh underneath its armor.
- The Storm Weaver, along with Ceaseless Void and Signus, can be summoned right after the Moon Lord is defeated, as their summoning item only requires Solar Fragments, Luminite Bars, and Unholy Essences.
- Prior to the 1.4.5.004 update, the Storm Weaver used to spawn Stasis Probes when hurt, similar to The Destroyer's spawning Probes.
- If the Boss Checklist Mod is installed, its unique despawn message will be "Storm Weaver hid itself once again within the stormfront."
