The Rusty Beacon Prototype is a craftable Pre-Hardmode sentry that can also be found in Rusty Chests. When used, it summons a stationary Rusty drone that bobs up and down. Every 2 seconds, starting 1 second after it is summoned, it fires a toxic wave pulse which inflicts the Irradiated debuff for 2 seconds and the Poisoned debuff for 4 seconds.
Its best modifier is Mythical. While Ruthless may seem to provide a bigger damage by percentages, rounding reveals that Mythical and Ruthless boost the damage equally for this weapon.

History

- 2.0.1.003:
- Buffed damage from 2 to 8.
- Now inflicts Irradiated for 2 seconds and Poisoned for 4 seconds, instead of Sulphuric Poisoning for 1.5 seconds.
- Now found in the Rusty Chest near a scrap pile.
- 2.0.1.002:
- Reworked:
- Now releases a cloudy pulse every 2 seconds which inflicts Sulphuric Poisoning for 1.5 seconds, instead of hovering on top of enemies and bursting into rusty shrapnels.
- Now has a base damage of 2 and consumes sentry slots instead of minion slots.
- Removed Rusty Drone buff.

- Increased mana cost from 2 to 10.
- Now has a use time of 34 instead of 35.

- No longer uses Rusty Lockpick in its recipe.
- Fixed it being considered an uncountable minion when using the Summoner's Association Card from the Summoner's Association mod.
- Fixed tooltip saying it inflicts multiple debuffs when it only inflicts Irradiated.
