The Ethereal Subjugator is a post-Moon Lord summon weapon that is dropped by Polterghast. It summons a Phantom minion which follows the player and attacks enemies by releasing three ghastly particles that home in towards the closest enemy after a short time.

Its best modifier is Ruthless. The Mythical modifier provides the widest array of stat bonuses, but these primarily affect the initial summon rather than the resulting minion. Additionally, minions cannot deal critical hits. The only lasting advantage a Mythical Ethereal Subjugator has over a Ruthless one is knockback.

History

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.2.001:
    • Reworked:
      • Buffed damage from 45 to 200.
      • Minions now take up one minion slot instead of half of a slot, and attack by releasing ghastly particles that home in towards the closest enemy after a short time.
    • Decreased sell price from 28 Gold Coin to 26 Gold Coin.
  • 1.4.5.007: Fixed a bug that caused it to crash the game when it was dropped in the world.
  • 1.4.3.001: Fixed minion not benefitting from increased all-class damage.
  • 1.4.2.108: Fixed a bug where it couldn't summon its last minion (e.g. only 3 ghosts instead of 4 if you have 2 minion slots).
  • 1.3.0.001:
    • Decreased the distance at which Phantoms hover away from targeted enemies.
    • Fixed Phantoms dealing typeless damage instead of summon damage.
