The Mana Polarizer is a Pre-Hardmode accessory that is dropped by The Slime God. It grants the following effects while equipped:

  • +50 maximum mana
  • +6% magic damage
  • -1.5 HP/s while the player is above 50% of their maximum mana.
  • Magic weapon projectiles spawn a small white healing orb on enemy hits, which lingers for a short amount of time before disappearing. Upon contact, the healing orb heals the player for 20% of the projectile's damage multiplied by the ratio of the player's current mana over their maximum mana.
    • Healing orbs will only heal the player if they are holding a magic weapon. The more the player is healed, the less often healing orbs will spawn from the hit enemy.

Notes

  • The health drain effect directly subtracts from any life regen the player has. If the player naturally regenerates less than 1.5 health per second, it will cause continuous damage over time while their maximum mana is above 50%.

Trivia

  • If the player is killed by the health drain, a status message will appear in the chat as "<PlayerName>'s life was completely converted into mana.".

History

  • 2.0.4.003:
    • Increased the velocity of its healing orbs by 33%.
    • Reworded tooltip lines about its lifesteal.
  • 2.0.4.001:
    • Increased its lifesteal cooldown, but it now always lifesteals on hit instead of having a 50% chance.
    • Changed dust usage on its lifesteal projectiles.

  • 1.2.1.002: Nerfed magic damage boost from 10% to 6%, and increased life regeneration penalty when below 50% mana from 3 to 5.
  • 1.2.0.001:
    • Now starts healing the player below 5% mana instead of 15%.
    • Resprited.
  • 1.1.7.61:
    • Nerfed magic damage boost from 15% to 10%.
    • Now lowers life regeneration by 3 instead of 5 if mana is above the maximum.
    • Now starts healing the player below 15% mana instead of 25%.
  • 1.1.5.08:
    • Broke up tooltip to use separate lines instead of it all being on one line.
    • Fixed a capitalization error in its tooltip.
  • 1.1.4.44: Now heals the player when their mana is low.
  • 1.1: Now uses the Rarity Level: rainbow rarity.
