Dead Sun's Wind is a craftable Hardmode flamethrower that uses gel as ammunition. It fires high-velocity blasts of cosmic plasma that explode on impact with enemies and will ricochet on contact with tiles. The explosions produced by the plasma deal 150% of the weapon's base damage and increase in size with consecutive hits, up to a limit. If the plasma blast ricocheted off of a tile, it will also gain the ability to aggressively home in on nearby enemies.

Its best modifier is Unreal.

These history sections are still a work-in-progress, and may not yet contain changes relevant to the current version of the Calamity Mod.
  • 2.0.3.007:
    • Reworked:
      • Buffed damage from 80 to 100, but nerfed use time from 6 to 22.
      • No longer functions like a standard flamethrower.
      • Now fires a concentrated plasma blast which explodes on enemy hits, dealing 150% base damage. The size of the explosion scales on consecutive hits.
      • If the plasma blast hits a tile, it will bounce off and gain the ability to home in on enemies.
  • 2.0.3.003: Renamed from "God's Bellows" to "Dead Sun's Wind".
  • 2.0.1.002: Decreased sell price from 19 Gold Coin to 16 Gold Coin.
  • 1.4.5.006: Buffed velocity from 7.5 to 9 and flame lifespan from 1.5 seconds to 1.67. This effectively increases its range from 42.1875 tiles to 56.25.
  • 1.4.5.001:
    • Renamed from "The Empyrean" to "God's Bellows".
    • Slightly increased the size of the flame's hitbox, but it no longer inflicts Cursed Inferno.
    • Resprited.
  • 1.4.3.002: Nerfed damage from 92 to 80, use time from 5 to 6, and use animation from 15 to 18.

    • Now has a tank behind the player.
