Frozen Lungs is a debuff inflicted in Expert Mode by being submerged in water in the Snow or Ice biomes. It causes the player's breath to drain significantly faster than normal. The debuff will not be inflicted if the player has the Arctic Diving Gear or any of its upgrades equipped.
This debuff replaces the Chilled infliction that occurs when entering cold water in Expert Mode in the vanilla game, and the player can revert this change via the Configuration options.
Notes
- Water breathing-themed items such as the Gills Potion and the Aquatic Heart are still effective against this debuff.

- This debuff is a reference to the icy water hazard from the game Banjo-Kazooie.
