The Combat Wrench is a pre-Hardmode, post-Skeletron boomerang which has a 1/8 (12.5%) chance of being dropped by the Mechanic. It will pierce multiple targets before returning.

Its best modifier is Godly or Demonic. Both modifiers increase the average damage output by the same amount.

Notes

  • This content is transcluded from NPCs/dropnote.Since town NPCs cannot be damaged by players normally, external damage sources must be used to obtain this item. The Flymeal(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions) is one of the easiest options; other effective options include traps, lava, drowning, Boulders or Rolling Cacti(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), enemies, Explosive Bunnies, Land Mines, or the Halloween-exclusive Rotten Eggs (in tandem with Frost armor).
  • While holding the Combat Wrench, it will appear on a player's back, similar to how the Mechanic has a wrench on her back.
  • The Mechanic uses the Combat Wrench to attack enemies.
Attacking Target Dummies with the Combat Wrench. Note how the wrench returns immediately when hitting blocks.

Tips

  • The Combat Wrench can hit one target multiple times, making it good for pre-Hardmode boss fights. However, its short range might make it undesirable to use against highly aerial, fast enemies.
