The Bee is a small flying enemy that usually appears in the Underground Jungle. They can be spawned by the Queen Bee, and will also appear when destroying Bee Hives and occasionally when mining Hive blocks (which are mainly found in Bee Hive biomes). They attack by flying into their target, dealing contact damage. In Expert Mode(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), Bees will inflict the Poisoned debuff to players for 2–6 / 2.5–7.5 seconds.
On the Desktop version, Console version, and Mobile version, Bees can also damage other enemies. Bees can select any enemy (except themselves and the Queen Bee) or the player as their target, and they always attack the nearest target. Bees deal 100% of their contact damage to the target but will also take 100% of contact damage from said target.[1]

Notes
- Bees from the Bee Gun, the Bee Keeper, The Bee's Knees, the Beenade, or the Honey Comb are completely unrelated to Bee enemies, as these bees are friendly projectiles.
- Unlike bee projectiles created by players, Bee enemies do not die or despawn when entering water. However, a Bee Hive will not spawn Bees when broken if it lands in water.
- In Expert Mode(Desktop, Console and Mobile versions), the damage done by Bees is greatly increased in Hardmode. This can catch players off-guard, as Bees are normally easily dealt with at this stage of the game.
- Bees do not drop Souls of Light, Souls of Night, Biome Keys, or Biome Key Molds.
Tips
- Since Bees can spawn from Hive blocks, it is recommended that the Bee Hive is entered with caution, even though they have little defense and health. While even the lowest-tier pickaxe, the Copper Pickaxe, is capable of killing them, breaking too many Hives at once can overwhelm a player with low-tier armor.
Trivia
- The Bestiary entry for the Bee: "Found in hives and nests all throughout the jungle, these tiny pests will swarm an adventurer at every turn."
