The 2.1.2 update made further refinements to the Brain of Cthulhu fight in Revengeance Mode, made several balance changes to items, and fixed a multitude of bugs.

Changes

Bosses

Brain of Cthulhu

  • No longer deals contact damage while stunned, while transitioning to phase 2, during the downtime between charges, during the semi-circular ichor rain and blood shot attack, while spinning around the player during the Illusion Spin attack, or while invisible after fading out before the Illusion Trick attack.
  • Decreased how fast Creepers spin around during the Creeper orbit attack in the second Creeper phase.
  • Decreased how much ichor is released by the semi-circular ichor rain and blood shot attack. Attack now additionally fires blood bombs which can be hit with weapons at close-range to redirect them back at the Brain, dealing damage.
  • Illusion Spin attack now waits longer before firing blood shots after illusions charge, fires the blood shots behind it instead of in front of it, and it now fires less blood shots in Revengeance Mode.
  • Projectiles spawned from projectiles that ignore Illusion Brains will now also ignore Illusion Brains.
  • Hitting an Illusion Brain now has an 8-frame delay before damaging and debuffing the player. Hitting the real Brain during this delay prevents this.

The Devourer of Gods

  • No longer deals contact damage while flying away after laser walls in phase 2.
  • Now disables the effects of Cinnamon Roll, and final phase portal charges now spawn laser walls in the For the worthy seed.
  • Head and tail now take 2x damage from all sources in Get fixed boi instead of For the worthy.

Moon Lord

  • Death Mode changes:
    • Decreased velocity boost.
    • No longer makes phantasmal bolts fire with predictive aim, and instead increases their velocity.
    • Decreased phantasmal eye and phantasmal sphere attack frequency boost.
    • Decreased phantasmal deathray rotation speed boost.

The Old Duke

  • No longer immediately spawns when the fishing bobber touches the water, and instead the bobber must be pulled to spawn him.

Polterghast

  • Clone no longer deals contact damage while moving into its charge position.

Enemies

  • Decreased Aquatic Urchin's spawn rate.
  • Gnasher can now spawn out of water. Reverted AI changes made in 2.1.0.

World

  • Planetoids spawning with Hardmode ores now occurs in Get fixed boi instead of For the worthy.

Balance

Armor and Accessories

  • Alchemical Decanter now spawns plague bees faster on hit and spawns more plague bees when hurt if the player is wearing Hive Pack.
  • Nerfed The Amalgam's elemental debuff damage boost from 300% to 200%.
  • Apprentice armor changes:
    • Apprentice's Hat now grants 10% magic damage.
    • Buffed Apprentice's Robe's summon damage boost from 15% to 20%, but nerfed magic damage boost from 15% to 10%.
    • Buffed Apprentice's Trousers' magic critical strike chance boost from 15% to 20%.
  • Nerfed Batholith Bangle's flash base damage from 225 to 100.
  • Nerfed Black Glass Band's flash base damage from 32 to 20.
  • Buffed Chaos Stone, Mana Burn damage now scales by 1% of damage dealt per 25 negative mana instead of 33. Mana Burn damage is now affected by Vodka.
  • Dark Artist armor changes:
    • Buffed Dark Artist's Hat's magic and summon damage boosts from 10% to 15%.
    • Buffed Dark Artist's Robes' summon damage boost from 20% to 25%.
    • Buffed Dark Artist's Leggings' magic critical strike chance boost from 15% to 25%.
  • Using God Slayer armor's Dimensional Drive now cancels the use of Relic of Deliverance.
  • Huntress armor changes:
    • Nerfed Huntress's Wig's ranged critical strike chance boost from 15% to 10%.
    • Buffed Huntress's Jerkin's ranged and summon damage boosts from 15% to 20%.
  • Slightly increased how much Mana Polarizer increments the lifesteal cooldown.
  • Monk armor changes:
    • Buffed Monk's Bushy Brow Bald Cap's rogue velocity boost from 15% to 20%.
    • Buffed Monk's Shirt's summon and rogue damage boosts from 15% to 20%.
  • Nerfed Protolith Bangle's flash base damage from 68 to 60.
  • Red Riding armor changes:
    • Buffed Red Riding Dress' ranged and summon damage boosts from 20% to 25%.
    • Buffed Red Riding Leggings' summon damage boost from 20% to 25%.
  • Nerfed Sea Spirit Amulet. It now spawns spirit orbs every 1.25 seconds instead of 1.08. Significantly increased the cooldown before spirit orbs can start spawning again after they disperse. Nerfed spirit orb base damage from 22 to 8, and they now inflict Riptide for 3 seconds instead of 7.
  • Shinobi Infiltrator armor changes:
    • Buffed Shinobi Infiltrator's Pants' summon damage and rogue critical strike chance boosts from 10% to 20%.
    • Buffed set bonus max stealth from 100 to 110.
  • Snow Ruffian armor changes:
    • Nerfed Snow Ruffian Mask's defense from 3 to 2, Snow Ruffian Chestplate's defense from 5 to 4, and Snow Ruffian Greaves' defense from 4 to 3.
    • Snow Ruffian Mask and Snow Ruffian Greaves now grant 5% ranged damage instead of 4% ranged critical strike chance.
    • Set bonus now makes ranged critical strikes inflict Frostburn for 2 seconds instead of 3.
  • Buffed Squire's Greaves' summon damage boost from 10% to 15%.
  • Toxic Heart's pulses can now critically strike, using the critical strike chance of the player's best class.
  • Rebalanced Unstable Granite Core. Nerfed zap base damage from 18 to 15. It now spawns 1 zap at a time instead of 3, but zaps can arc between up to 5 enemies instead of 3.
  • Buffed Ursa Sergeant's slash base damage from 200 to 325. Increased its hitbox size.

Weapons

  • Extended the length of B-LSR: Countermeasure Mitt's lasers.
  • Buffed Bonebreaker's damage from 45 to 55.
  • The Burning Sky now receives ranged weapon prefixes instead of melee.
  • Nerfed Dazzling Stabber Staff's damage from 43 to 35.
  • Nerfed Death's Ascension's damage from 900 to 700.
  • Buffed Devil's Devastation, death mark now deals 25x base damage instead of 22.5x.
  • Buffed Exalted Oathblade, right-click slash now deals 16x base damage instead of 14x.
  • Rebalanced Exorcism. Buffed damage from 192 to 222. Stealth strikes now deal damage when returning to the cursor, but deal 50% base damage.
  • Nerfed Firestorm Cannon's damage from 17 to 15.
  • Buffed Forbidden Oathblade, right-click slash now deals 12x base damage instead of 10x.
  • Fuel Cell Bundle's minions now attack 15% faster if the player is wearing Hive Pack.
  • Nerfed Galileo Gladius, sword rip now deals 10x base damage instead of 15x, and sword pull now deals 20x base damage instead of 30x.
  • Nerfed Greatsword of Judgement, true melee stars now deal 35% base damage instead of 40%, and each swing can only spawn stars once.
  • Rebalanced Halley's Inferno. Right-click starbursts now deal 250% base damage instead of 125% and generate Starburst faster on hit, but it now uses 2 Starburst per shot.
  • The Hive's missiles and nukes now spawn more plague bees if the player is wearing Hive Pack.
  • Nerfed Holy Collider's damage from 3140 to 2900.
  • Nerfed Igneous Exaltation's damage from 34 to 30. Active ability now pierces 15 times instead of 50, and deals 200% damage on the first 5 hits instead of 10.
  • Infected Remote's minion now deals 1.167x damage if the player is wearing Hive Pack.
  • Nerfed Lucrecia's damage from 170 to 150.
  • Nerfed Monstrous Knives' damage from 9 to 8. Increased how much it increments the lifesteal cooldown.
  • Rebalanced The Oracle. Buffed damage from 192 to 201. Aura now scales from 35%-80% base damage instead of scaling from 68-150 base damage.
  • Nerfed Orderbringer's damage from 840 to 800. True melee beams now deal 35% base damage instead of 40%, and each swing can only spawn beams once.
  • Plaguenade now spawns more plague bees if the player is wearing Hive Pack.
  • Pumpkaboom can no longer have its throwing animation canceled by releasing left-click.
  • Reverted Razorblade Typhoon's typhoons granting ID-static immunity frames.
  • Nerfed Rot Ball and Tooth Ball's damage from 20 to 16.
  • Nerfed Sanctified Spark's damage from 128 to 100. Healing orbs now health 5 health instead of 10.
  • Rebalanced Shard of Antumbra. Nerfed damage from 144 to 111, but buffed stealth strike damage modifier from 65% to 70%. Javelins now lose 20% damage per hit instead of 17%. Stealth strikes now spawn 6 clone javelins instead of 9.
  • Rebalanced Sirius. Nerfed damage from 150 to 90. Passive Starburst generation now scales based on minion slots used. Quasar beam no longer explodes when hitting armored targets.
  • Buffed Spectralstorm Cannon's damage from 82 to 85.
  • Nerfed Spider Staff, spider minions now grant 30 effective local immunity frames instead of 15.
  • Buffed Starfleet and Starmada, increased the timing window for hitting perfect naildrivers by 2 frames. Added a sound when hitting a perfect naildriver.
  • Rebalanced The Swarmer. It now fires 2 bees and wasps per shot normally instead of 3. Bees and wasps can now pierce, granting 5 ID-static immunity frames. Wearing Hive Pack now makes it fire 3 bees and wasps per shot, increases wasp damage by 5, and gives wasps an innate 5 armor penetration.
  • Nerfed Vengeful Sun Staff's damage from 40 to 35.

Other

  • Nerfed Baby Cannonball Jellyfish's damage when fired from the Cannon from 400 to 300. Explosions now deal 50% base damage.
  • Nerfed Feral Bobber, enemy damaging effect now has greatly diminishing returns once bait power exceeds 75%.
  • Rebalanced Gelpick. Buffed pickaxe power from 90% to 105%, but nerfed tool speed from 6 to 9.
  • Nerfed Moonshine, it now makes defense damage take 3x as long to recover instead of 2x.
  • Rebalanced Searing Lava. It is no longer prevented from being inflicted on players by lava immunity. It is now completely unaffected by enemy debuff vulnerabilities and resistances. It no longer reduces cold debuff damage by 50% on enemies.

Recipes

  • Moved Ghoulish Gouger below Molten Amputator in Nanoblack Reaper's recipe.
  • Piggy's Bacon recipe now requires a Cooking Pot to craft instead of a Hellforge.
  • Water Walking Boots now require a Loom to craft instead of an Anvil.

Resprites

Reworks

  • Reworked Nanoblack Reaper, it no longer rapidly throws homing nanoblack scythes that spawn nanoblades, and stealth strikes no longer make scythes spawn afterimage clones. It now throws a scythe which rapidly spawns hardlight tesselations which fire an instantaneous beam at nearby enemies; beams deal typeless damage and have an innate 150 armor penetration. Releasing left-click right as the scythe begins returning causes it to perform a light-speed carve through the closest enemy to the cursor. Light-speed carves have an innate 150 armor penetration, and if the release is timed within a 4-frame window, the carve gains +100% critical strike chance and can supercrit. The weapon does not have a traditional stealth strike; instead, right-clicking with enough stealth for a stealth strike will empower the next 30 throws of the weapon. While empowered, the weapon attacks 3x faster, and scythes rapidly spawn stacking slashes over an enemy but cannot perform light-speed carves. Buffed damage from 130 to 315, but nerfed use time from 6 to 19.

  • Fixed the mod description having a broken link to the Steam Workshop page.
  • Fixed a crash from drawing a player that is wearing an armor piece with a glowmask and a transformation item at the same time.
  • Fixed Abaddon's explosion effect not working properly.
  • Fixed the second layer of the Abyss generating with safe walls instead of unsafe walls.
  • Fixed Abyssal Diving Gear's tooltip still saying that it removes the bleed effect of the Abyss, even though the effect no longer exists.
  • Fixed Acid Rain and Boss Rush's event progress bars not scaling properly with the UI scale setting.
  • Fixed Acidwood saplings being unable to naturally grow into Acidwood trees.
  • Fixed an exploit where Acrobatic Bobber's fishing minigame could catch a wide variety of unintended items if using a lava fishing pole and lava bait, but not a lava fishing accessory.
  • Fixed Alluring Bait, Gacruxian Mollusk, Polaris Parrotfish, Rusted Jingle Bell, Serpent's Bite, and Ursa Sergeant being unable to be fished up if Floodtide was also available to be fished up.
  • Fixed Androomba, Piggy, Repair Unit, and Shroomble incrementing their bestiary kill count on every frame that the player is close to them.
  • Fixed Anti-materiel Rifle's tooltip mentioning outdated information about its extra swarm of bullets.
  • Fixed Arc Flash Ring's bolts not properly preventing double scaling from critical strikes.
  • Fixed Atlas Munitions Beacon's overdrive lasers, Cadaverous Carrion's sharks, Harvest Staff's pumpkins, and Orthocera Shell's acid streams incorrectly being classified as minion attacks instead of sentry attacks.
  • Fixed Blissful Bombardier's rockets, Claret Cannon's rounds, Dazzling Stabber Staff's minions, Flash Rounds, Scorched Earth's rockets, and Viscera's beams and explosions not producing visuals or sounds for other players in multiplayer.
